Winsome Wood Corner TV Stand, Natural

I'll tell you the good stuff, first...After a couple of months of having this and using it as a corner table, the real story is that this manufacturer and this table are both absolutely the man. Absolutely. The. Man. This is real wood, with a nice and unpretentious finish. It comes together strong as a small pony. Heavy. Hard. Pretty. Easy to put together. I have sat on it before and I am a big guy (6'6", 260). Not a creak.The bad stuff...There is no bad stuff. If you want this dimension of table, you want THIS table. Do it.

..... the wheels are cheap and crappy as many people have stated. That's why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. It's not so much the wheels but moreso the plastic, cheap housing they sit inside.I didn't need them [the wheels] and actually threw them out and sat the stand flat into a room corner. Worked great! If you don't need to move it around [I really don't know why you would need to once it's positioned] then follow my lead and get rid of them.It's very well constructed and all panels fit together well. I used wood glue prior to srewing all panels together and it's very sturdy. It looks great with the natural wood tone and is a perfect angled fit in any corner.I highly recommend it.... except for the noted [minor] downfall.

I chose this namely due to all the good reviews here. However this isn't exactly the dream product users claim it to be. Yes, it is solid wood. Yes, it's fairly stable however:Fire wood is also solid.The wood for this unit is actually very cheap and looks cheap. Significantly lighter in color than the picture Assembly is not as easy as users make out. You'd need some "flat pack" experience if you want to ensure it's solid enough to trust it to hold your TV. There were also a bunch of preexisting scuffs and scratches in the grain.This was about $100 when I got it. As the price is dropped it may be better value, but it is certainly no bargain. You can probably find comparable products at local stores for half the price.

Arrived with a broken shelf but there was no visible damage to the box. Says it supports 75 lbs. but I'm doubtful. I certainly wouldn't trust it to hold an $800 flat screen. Amazon is no help, who wants to deal with repacking this junk and the hassle of returning it? I'm going to eat my loss. I suggest you don't run the same risk.

One of the wood shelves were cracked where the screw drives in. Wheel holder broke as soon as I flipped it over after being installed. At least add a few more of the wheel holders with the product in the event they break! Just hard to give it more than 2 stars. Considering, I didn't even have a chance to place it in my living room without leaning to one side due to the wheel issue.

Beautiful, solid wood, EASY to assemble (not one of my skill areas) and the wheels roll the unit smoothly. This is the ideal informal storage unit for a small corner. It's holding a 37" old-fashioned TV (not flat) and there's still some extra top surface. The under-shelves accommodate an XBox 360, a Wii, the modem and Airport, with lots of extra room. (Note: the space in the undershelves is just a bit short for the Wii on its end in the stand, with one of those plug-ins on top, but I solved that by having the back of the Wii stick out a bit beyond the back of the unit.) A very well-designed unit. Could be a useful item in an office.

The stand is solidly made and attractive. There are a few caveats though. First, you're going to want a rubber mallet to properly install all of the wooden plugs used to hide the screws. If you use a regular hammer, you'll destroy the finish. Next, the instructions are pretty minimal. Third, there is a tool to install the screws but if you have a T25 star bit for your electric drill, the job will be much easier. And finally, the biggest issue. The castors are almost impossible to install. I found that I needed to ream out each of the plastic fittings on the bottom of the stand and then use that same rubber mallet to install the castors. This is clearly a design flaw.

This stand works nicely for me. I have an older, heavier combination TV, DVD player on it - the corner arrangement has made the room seem much larger. The wheels aren't the sturdiest, but they are workable. It was easy to assemble. One negative because of open shelving was finding a way to artfully hide cords from the TV, the Comcast box, and my Wii. I put items, including the Comcast box, on the shelves to shield the cords from view. For the price, I'm pleased with my purchase.
