A headphone I’d recommend
The comfort for the value could be better but overall I found them very comfortable. I’ll be honest I listen mainly to classic rock, rock and pop, and hip hop. So I like a good high and kids as well as a deep low and these responded unlike other headphones with its own type of EQ control in the B&O app. I’m listening to broccoli with Dram and Lil Yachty. The deep hard lows in the song really come out without losing the highs as an example. With its high quality leather and aluminum and lamb skin ear cups. I do very much enjoy these headphones

Choose and select with your ears while comparing other models
Okay I got a pair of Bang & Olufsen 9 3rd generation via my work as a performance award. I did not spend my own money on these however I did a fair amount of research before I chose them out of the catalog. (I had no return as an option) My wife does own a pair of Bose Soundlink 2 that I have used for a couple years so I do have a good comparison. My advice now that I have sat and compared both models is to NOT just read reviews and watch folks talk about them on YouTube. You have to actually go to a store and listen to all of them to see if the sound difference to your ear makes it worth spending extra money or not. I believe neither the Bose or the Bang & Olufsen have the volume I require while listening to them via Bluetooth. Wired they both do. I am frustrated with that fact as I would rather have less battery time with increased volume. I don’t need headphones to work for 25 hours straight!! Does anyone? Is this a cell phone or a smart watch? No it is not!! Stupid. To my ears the Banger’s do sound way better than the Bose II’s the question is do they sound 300 bucks better? Well that is something a person has to listen to them side by side to make that call. The Banger’s are heavier and not near as comfortable as the Bose simply due to the extra weight difference however you can clearly see the build quality is a complete new level. The sound canceling feature is new to me as I don’t have that on the Bose 2 and I will say this feature is awesome as it allows you to be completely immersed in the music experience. This feature I would now make a requirement for any headphone model I select. As already mentioned headphones are a challenge to select due to personal preference. I guess my gold advice to ya all is to select the top 2 or 3 in your budget and buy them and get them home and compare over multiple nights of relax time and return the ones that you believe are the losers. Making a choice via written reviews would be similar to choosing the wine you like via what others say. Yep 100% personal preference. Each ear is as unique as a finger print. If you are a just a status person and extra money doesn't matter then just buy the Banger’s and call it good.

These are not on-the-go headphones. I wouldn't recommend unless you like this sort of thing
Been using regularly for about a week now and I am happy with my purchase.Pros:-they feel and look amazing. quality is A++-comes with all sorts of adapters-charge quickly (USB c port a bonus)-replaceable ear cupsCons:-ANC works when volume is at more than halfway-very low in sound when volume meter is at or less than halfway.-they do not fold-does not come with a hard case BUT I'm a homebody and find the pouch very convenient for easy store.-cabin pressure feel-bluetooth is a little slow. Be patient with it. It will not connect bc this device was $500. It will connect after about 5 seconds. Dont fidget with it too much or it will take longer to connect. The Bluetooth is a little temperamental at first when getting to know your devices.Overall, I purchased for the looks and got what I paid for. The sound quality is great, dont let the cons deter you, it just takes a few tweaks every time you connect to different devices. Examples: headphones sound incredible connected to my ipod nano vs my classic. When connected to my phone, the B&O app is my saving grace. Its hit or miss connected to my laptop, still no complaints. Just wish my volume didn't have to be blasting to get the best sound out of them.

B&O's next homerun?
Coming from the H4 2nd Gen headphones, which I love, was excited to see what improvements B&O have made and if they are worth the higher asking price. The H9s offer basically the same classy, executive, tried-and-true design that I have come to appreciate. The “Argilla Bright” color choice I have looks amazing. The soft-beige leather top of the headband and the earpads, the copper adjustable slider, the medium grey headband cushion and driver cup, and golden-brass cup sides with a subtle logo all complement each other quite nicely. They are not obnoxious at all or pretentious looking like some other headphones with similar color choices. They certainly look high-end in my opinion.Looking at the H4s and H9s side by side, I can definitely see physical improvements. The headband has a thicker leather with more cushion underneath. The slider is thicker (round) and sturdier and hide the connecting cables. There is a bit more girth to the housings and make the H9s slightly heavier. I also noticed that the H9s have a bit more clamping force and after wearing them for a couple of hours I did experience a bit of fatigue under my ears by my jaw line. Still, the super soft, lambskin ultra-plush earpads still feel dreamy during considerable listening time and never caused any overheating.Although the clamping force is tight, I still felt that I would not use these for exercising. They are simply just too wobbly, and you would not want these to fall off (eek!). I believe they were designed for comfort listening while chilling on a light walk or at home. Unlike other heavy headphones, I did not experience fatigue on the top of my head because of the headband’s padding. Aside from the slight discomfort on my jaw, these are some of the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever tried.Unfortunately, these still feature Bluetooth 4.2. I mean, we are already on 5.1 and these are top-of-the line, so why B&O? Yes, they are aptX™ Low Latency, AAC, SBC, CvC codec compatible but I feel they are not as future-proof and I want them to last for years. Pairing was easy on both Android, PC, and iOS. I will say that I did not experience disconnects at decent distances, and lag was not really an issue. Now, the H9s offer touch controls on the right cup and for the most part they are responsive and somewhat easy to get used to. I am happy to say that everything can be controlled through the earphones -including volume and assistant (through a dedicated button on left side). Very functional!B&O claims 25 hours battery time and I think this is true. I hit over 32 hours on my first go, but I did try the wired option with no ANC (which I appreciate). They are charged via USB-C (thankfully) and can be used while charging. I think this is good enough even for those who are still able to go on long over-seas trips.I was pleasantly surprised by the ANC (noise cancellation) implementation (which the H4s do not have). While not as good as other top-tier ANC headphones out there, the H9s were able to suppress almost all lower frequencies such as the dishwasher, outside traffic, and mid frequencies such as someone having a loud conversation in the same room while listening to music. The “Transparency Mode” sound feature is also well implemented as I was able to listen around me without that “super hearing” effect. Well done B&O!Call quality is also strong with this one. People were able to hear me clearly in phone calls as well as conference meetings. While it still sounds like you are on BT, the voice is not coming as tinny or robotic. But what about the sound? Again, B&O hit a homerun with these! Listening to HiFi sources, these cans really do come alive. Out of the box, the bass is powerful, deep, and where needed, shows restraint without obscuring all other sounds. While not pushed forward, the mid frequencies come through quite distinctively, making vocals clear as well as rhythm instruments. The treble hits a high ceiling without being piercing nor fatiguing. It helps that the range is slightly higher at 22kHz (20kHz for the H4s). Soundstage is quite expansive, and channel separation is well implemented. No matter what I threw at them they performed superbly. I would describe the listening experience as joyful and detailed. Are they worth the asking price? While certainly not perfect -4.2 BT and no carrying case (really?!), the features -especially sound signature, overwhelm the negatives and, in the end, make for an excellent purchase decision. Are they worth the upgrade from the H4s? Regarding features and functionality, most definitely. If you only care about sound, then the recommendation becomes more difficult to give as the H4s already sound amazing (subjectively). Either way, if you do get them, you will be more than satisfied.

Cuffie premium
