Surprisingly Awesome
I never review things but I purchased this card game to play with a friend who has been learning Spanish for years and to brush up on my high school level. It was fun for both of us! Very easy to learn to play --- I didn't glaze over when I read the instructions (and also found a brief YouTube video that helped, too). It was delightful for two 40 year-olds to laugh and practice Spanish. I also played with my mom (60s) as we are preparing for a trip to Spain. There are notes on the cards for when a word is different in Latin American vs. Spain. She enjoyed it, too. I had very low expectations for this game and it's actually fantastic. Thanks to the other reviewers for convincing me to give it a try.

¡Increíble!
Thank you so much for this resource!! I use these for private lessons, and plan to use them with my beginning level classes as school this year. The cards are accessible to all and will guarantee that all students are on task- they have questions with options for answers, so students will feel confident and safe speaking with their class mates. Because students are exposed to the same questions more than once, the game will help reinforce previously learned language while introducing new vocabulary and structures. I imagine you’ll have 100% of students on task with this game, and you’ll hear a lot of Spanish. For Spanish 1 students, there are a few reflexive questions that may present a slight challenge, but you can just write these ones on the board with their meanings. I saw in the reviews that someone didn’t receive instructions. Mine came with instructions that were very clear and easy to follow. The game works like Uno, but you ask a question when you play a card. I would also love to have a set of these cards with particular focuses, such as questions in the preterite and other grammatical areas.

Conversational Uno
This card game is a fantastic way to help Novice level students practice basic, high-frequency questions along with common vocabulary topics! It probably works best in a classroom setting but could function as a tutoring tool. The game’s rules (which were included in multiple languages) are basically the same as Uno, but each of the number cards has a question in French that the player has to ask the next person. I love how the cards make asking and answering questions out loud easy. The cards give all the pieces necessary for students to form questions as well as answers. The answer words are color-coded to match appropriate options when there are different ways to answer a question (like with weather expressions). *A fun twist to speed the game up and make it a little more competitive: To play with Intermediate level students, you can add a rule that the player who has a number card must first ask the question without showing the card, and the first person to answer the question appropriately gets the next turn. This game is also available in Spanish, German, and Japanese.

Cute card game
My granddaughter and I play this game in Spanish quite frequently. She is partially bilingual, with more high comprehension and lower production, but she does enjoy playing this game. The pictures are vibrant and clear and the cards are sturdy. The only drawback for us is that the vocabulary is that of Spanish in Spain, not Latin American Spanish. She has never heard the word "paella", but "pupusa" or "tostada" or "ceviche" she would recognize. Or if "tortilla" were labeled "tortilla española" since her only exposure to the word "tortilla" is to the Mexican version, very different from "tortilla española." Or if "la Sagrada Familia" were also labeled "la iglesia" or "la catedral". Or if the picture for cake labeled "tarta" also included "pastel" or "bizcocho". I was really taken aback by the word "bacon" for "bacon", as I have only heard and used "tocino" or "panceta" and have never seen "bacon" in any written material. And at any rate the word should be written "beicon" if it is borrowed from English. The makers of this game did manage to include both the Spanish words and the Latin American variants for the words "coche"/"carro" and "ordenador"/computadora"; why not expand that to include other obvious omissions? I was surprised by the focus on Spanish from Spain since the box the game comes in shows a "nopal" (cactus) and a stereotypical Mexican sombrero on the front cover. On the positive side it has given me a chance to explain to her that there are different versions of words in Spanish and in English.

For very basic French students
This game is a bit confusing. However, it targets very beginning French learners. In retrospect, I regret buying it.

Conoscevo già il prodotto perchè ho acquistato la serie in inglese, carte carine e stimolanti per i bambini che si approcciano alle lingue straniere.
