Leuchtturm1917 - Medium Landscape Hardcover Sketchbook (Lemon) - 112 Pages of 150g/m² Paper

I’ve used a lot of sketchbooks in my time, and this one is one of my all time favourites. The paper is smooth and a beautiful soft white, making it a great option for most media. It opens very flat too so I can easily create images across a whole spread. Im not fussed when paper crinkles on me so I’ve been able to use gouache and acrylic in the sketchbook, as well as marker, ink, graphite and collage. If you prefer paper to stay smooth and pristine though I would avoid using much water based media in this book. I haven’t had any issue with ink or water based markers ghosting, but alcohol markers definitely will bleed through, especially if you layer a lot. Again it’s not something that bothers me in a sketchbook in the slightest. The best part is the durability and craftsmanship of the book itself. I’ve used Leuchttrum notebooks for years so I already knew this one would hold up. In addition to my artistic mistreatment of my sketchbooks, I also tend to throw them in my bag, bend and otherwise stress the bindings, remove pages etc. Basically I’m a walking durability test. So far this one has really held up! Especially the elastic closure which at less than a quarter of the way through the pages is already earning its keep. All in all, this sketchbook is a great value in my opinion. There are cheaper ones out there that definitely serve a function, but if you want a book that will essentially become a living art piece through use, I would strongly recommend giving this one a try!

My go-to sketchbook. I’ve ordered one every time I finish one. I haven’t been able to find anything with the paper quality and the page spread like this one. It’s absolutely fabulous. It doesn’t bleed with alcohol or water based markers, great texture and holds up very well in my bag. Goes with me pretty much everywhere and is easy to fill up. Also a cute pocket on the end for small sketches that are loose, and a strap to help it close nicely when the pages get inevitably full. Great value. Will be getting another after I finish this one!!!

Nice thick paper that can take a handful of materials pretty easily if you’re careful with the amount of medium you’re putting on the page. I love the size, bright lemon color and the shape of the pages.

Absolutely love this sketchbook! takes light washes of ink and watercolor very well. Paper is very smooth, I do occasionally have trouble with graphite smearing.

I absolutely LOVE this sketchbook!! I had been looking for a replacement of my usual Moleskine sketchbooks and I think this is it. The paper is lovely, where I can use many different pens and markers for all my sketching/character design/gestures/figure drawings that I want and it doesn't bleed through at all. Keep in mind that I have mainly used Sharpie highlighters, Big Round Stic blue pens, Crayola markers, prisma colors, and Tul markers, so I'm not sure how copics would react to the pages if you are interested in those. I imagine they'd bleed through only a little, but that can be easily solved by placing a blank paper behind the one you're drawing on. The binding is also very neat, where I'm already past the halfway point of the sketchbook and the sketchbook isn't folding in on itself or becoming loose in any way; so those of you that are interested in scanning your drawings (like I've done) will have a very easy time of doing so. The sketchbook also has a little folder compartment in the back that works great for any small rulers or scrap papers you want to put in it. Artist tape works perfectly with it too, not tearing off a single bit of the paper. By adding one of those pencil holders/pen sleeve cases with the adjustable elastic band, this is my perfect sketchbook. Very happy artist here, can't wait to buy again!

This is a very high quality sketchbook. The paper is thick and works well for many different mediums. It comes with blank labels you can stick to the front or spine. I like the texture of the paper but would prefer the color to be a little more off-white. It comes with not one, but two ribbon bookmarks. Overall, I love the sketchbook but there is one problem. It's not preforated. This would be fine, however, this sketchbook shows up in the search results when you search "preforated sketchbook" so I was expecting the pages to be preforated. I like my pages to be preforated in my sketchbook because I lot of the time I will create finished pieces using my sketchbook and need to remove the art to give away or sell. I really don't understand why sketchbook companies refuse to use preforated pages but I digress. This is still a very nice sketchbook.

The paper quality is amazing!! I’ve never owned a book that doesn’t bleed through like this one. I can later gouache paints without worry! Also drawing with just pencil on these pages is so satisfying.

This is hands down the best sketchbook i’ve ever used. takes mixed media like a champ with no pulling or buckling under several layers of marker and india ink. the paper is smooth, nothing bleeds through, colors look beautiful on the slightly off white paper and it’s simply just the best.

I’ll be honest, I was hesitant at first given the price but looking at the reviews I went ahead and bought it and I have to say - this is one of the best sketchbooks I’ve ever used. The paper is such a smooth texture that’s not too thin and not too thick. The sketchbook also comes with stickers/labels for the cover and spine for when you want to archive it. It also comes with a pocket at the back which keeps a surprising amount of spare/scrap pieces. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a sturdy new sketchbook.100% worth the money :)

Ich nutze seit Jahren für meine persönlichen Notizen und auch kleinen Zeichnungen diverse Notiz- und Zeichenbücher. Die Reihe von Leuchtturm ist dabei sicherlich hinsichtlich Papierqualität, Auswahl verschiedener Formate ganz vorn dabei. Ich liebe den Zeichenkarton, der auch Marker hält (sofern nicht zu stark) und für Mixed Media geeignet ist. Sicherlich nicht auf der günstigen Seite, aber genau richtig für meine Ansprüche. Das wird sicherlich nicht mein letztes Produkt gewesen sein. Was ich mag: - Papierdicke und Qualität - Haptik und Verarbeitung - praktische kleine Tasche innen im Deckel - Gummiband zur Fixierung - Tolle Farbauswahl und Formatauswahl (ich nehme aufgrund der Zeichnungen immer blanko)

Have been looking for these in stores but the square shape and larger size is a hard to find one. Better quality than other sketchbooks

È un a5 vero, quindi più o meno un centimetro più largo di quello della moleskine, la carta è anche leggermente più ruvida (è sempre molto liscia, ma ha un minimo di porosità, che secondo me va benissimo per la grafite). È leggero, le pagine sono bianche e non avorio, lo trovo molto compatto e comodo da mantenere. I colori delle copertine sono tanti e tutti bellissimi, penso che lo ricomprerò quando mi finirà, mi piace molto, mi dispiace che non sia molto popolare perché è anche più economico di quello della moleskine, e lo trovo molto migliore. I fogli sembrano dei cartoncini perché sono da 160 grammi, perfetti per disegnare e cancellare, ma sono un po'trasparenti pur essendo doppi, non so perché, ma si intravede quello che c'è nella pagina di dietro
