More historical not so much what’s there now
The media could not be loaded. I bought this for a trip that’s coming up and it’s more about the history of the island in a A-to-Z format, which is also not helpful when it comes to history, I would rather it be in chronological order or organized by area of the island.

In All The World No Trip Like This.....
Santa Catalina Island's history and facts as described by the authors. The first section is listed in order by dates covering 8000 BC to 2012. The second part addresses in alphabetical order important names i.e. - "Old Ben", (The sea lion, harbor greeter, town pet) and unique places like the Airport In The Sky. This is a detailed, reference book complimented by black and white photos. It is not a "What to do guide for first time visitors". There is a lot of Catalina whole island information that goes beyond the town of Avalon. Some of my personal favorites that 95% of the visitors never see is: Black Jack Mountain/Campground, El Rancho Escondido, Parson's Landing (Leeward Side), Ben Weston Beach/Little Harbor/Shark Harbor (Windward, Back Side of the island beaches), Ribbon Rock (West End), The Palisades (East End) and The East Summit (High View Point Rest Area).
