This replaced a long loved aluminum tenderizer that just did not get along with dishwasher. Came out covered in grey oxidation - yuck! This survives the dishwasher without a blemish. It's heavy, nearly a pound and a half. I Hhve to be careful not to smash through the meat I'm pounding. Gentle is the word of the day but it does the job and does it well. Great design. Easily cleaned even without the dishwasher. Hook to hang it. Good leverage and enough room so my knuckles don't hit the cutting board. We're considering keeping by the bed for protection should we have an intruder.

Great product. Fits well in my hand and I can let the item do all of the work for me. Also, the head of the tenderizer goes exactly where I aim it.

Only dislike is the hollow handle. Will hand wash only

Like a sledge hammer for the kitchen! Protect your counter with a heavy butcher block. I love this utensil.

This is a stainless steel item. It goes in the dishwasher and comes out clean and shiny.

This mallet is heavy and large but has signs of either bad production or sloppy quality control. The textured end of the mallet is missing the outer coating. The handle is not 90 degrees to the head and is on a slight angle. The handle has 1 large and a bunch of smaller marks on it from manufacturing. Overall disappointed..
