Great little amp!
After trying a competitor's amp and being extremely disappointed, I gave this Monoprice amp a try. Let's be honest, it doesn't sound like my 12" 50 watt, or my dual 10" 350 watt, right...? But for the cost, weight, and portability, this is a GREAT amp! Very nice, smooth sound, great for thumping along in a quieter practice session, or with an acoustic guitar.I wanted something really portable with decent features, and this hit the spot. It is great with my acoustic 5 string to add just a bit of drive that the acoustic needs in when playing with a couple other guys. And it sounds equally good with my traditional electric bass. Sure, that B string is missing some depth, but this amp is designed for portability, so that's to be expected.Highly recommended! Excellent value!

Exceeds expectations
The media could not be loaded. Perfect amp for good basses. Has very nice overdrive capabilities using gain knob, which is harmonic distortion ; amp offers a wide range of tonal options and very useful compression function, which eliminates unwanted noise from the strings. Being a minimalist analogous type guitarist, focused on quality and favoring basic functioning over many effects, or digital features, this amp gives me what I need and more because it does what it does so well. For the price , the quality and craftsmanship is unrivaled. Hopefully will use at some small gigs in the near future!

Good for the money
I was pleasantly surprised and will use it regularly. Hopefully it will last. My only con about the whole thing is this, it has a horrible, fuzzy fabric covering. Why did they not just cover it in vinyl that would’ve increased the longevity of the appearance? The fabric coating they have on it is gonna gather dust and will degrade much quicker. Other than that, so far no gripes and that’s why I gave it four stars instead of five.

Exceeds my most optimistic expectations!
My daughter has played an acoustic violin since she was three. Now, ten years later, she is learning jazz violin and we gave her an electric violin for Christmas. So an amp was needed. At first, I bought this 10W amp Sawtooth ST-AMP-10ST-AMP-10 10-Watt Electric Guitar Amp and it works fine - it's pretty small (just a bit larger than the yellow pages+white pages, if you are old enough to know what those looked like) and pretty easy to carry to lessons and such. But I did not want to pack and unpack it every time so I decided to just keep it in an old laptop bag ready to go to lessons. And besides, it has only one line input (so accompaniment pre-recorded by her teacher (for jazz exercises) had to be played from the laptop separately which involved hooking up an external laptop speaker - a hassle, if you ask me - to make the accompaniment come out of the lap top loud enough). So I decided to get an amp just for home use and preferably one that has multiple line inputs and maybe more power since it can be larger in size. A search on Amazon showed this product. I was a bit concerned at first as it had only one review, but it seemed pretty reasonably priced at $65 that I just went for it. I ordered it from Monoprice (seller) that I assume actually makes those (i.e. same seller name as the amp brand). No Amazon Prime listings were there. (I usually prefer Prime, because the shipping is mush faster than most other sellers and returns are very easy.) To my pleasant surprise, they shipped it by UPS on the same afternoon as I ordered it (and actually shipped, i.e. not just a label created to be shipped next business day or whenever) and because the seller is in the same state (CA) as I am, I had it at my door step in less than 24 hours! It came in a shipping box with the product's retail box inside it. A good sign, in my opinion! I don't like it when some sellers (including Prime, BTW) sometimes just slap a shipping label directly on the retail box (a months ago, I got a Canon printer shipped to me that way by Amazon Prime). The actual amp was reasonably well padded inside its retail box. Setting it up took literally 30 seconds - just take it out of the box and plug it in.AND NOW, AT LAST (!), ON TO THE ACTUAL PRODUCT REVIEW:Summary: IT'S AWESOME! Details: Looks really well made and on volume setting of 5 (out of 10) fills a 1,200 sq. ft. room with a vaulted ceiling with way more sound than the 10W did at its maximum volume setting (that's probably pretty close to what should have been expected though, but still it was pretty impressive). At its maximum volume, I guess, you can probably use this amp to test the structural integrity of your house for earthquake/hurricane readiness. At the volume knob set to 5, it was louder in our living room than on the dance floor at a club on a Friday night. I did not dare go above 5. Actually, we ended up having the volume control on the violin itself turned down half way for the amp to sound at about the same volume as a regular acoustic violin would sound. I am not an audiophile, but to me the clarity was just great. My daughter, on the other hand, is very picky (she has a perfect pitch and spends 30 minutes every day tuning her violin to absolute perfection - she is very bothered if something is microscopically too sharp or too flat and can't practice like that at all), but she also had no complaints about the quality of the sound. I had a Hosa Cable CMP310 1/8 inch TS to 1/4 Inch TS Adapter Cable - 10 Foot so we plugged in the laptop for the accompaniment in INPUT2 (coming from the laptop's headphones output). BTW, both inputs on the amp use 1/4 plugs. It's worth mentioning that this is very convenient to have a separate volume control for each of the two line inputs on the amp. We ended up turning the volume on the laptop down to about 60% and using the volume control knobs on the amp to adjust the volume of the accompaniment to be coordinated with the volume of the violin connected to INPUT1. Both volumes ended up set to about 2, though. Now size-wise, it's a bit smaller than a medium sized wheeled carry-on (for airplanes) and weighs about 20 pounds. I mean I could easily take it to a performance if needed, but it's not something I would want to carry to lessons every week. So I am keeping the small amp for that purpose. It looks fine (I mean considering that all amps that I saw on Amazon somehow have that same 1960's retro-look) and feels solid and well-made . The exterior shell is upholstered with some fabric/carpet material (sort of like car floor mats) - I don't think it collecting dust will be a problem, though - a microfiber cloth should be pretty effective for dusting it, I think. All in all, I am impressed and happy enough to actually want to write this review. I believe this product/company/seller deserves it. If you are wondering if this review is real (as I am always a little skeptical myself of glowing 5-star reviews for lesser known brands - lately I've been noticing that a lot of those seem to be bogus, paid reviews - I always check out the 2-star reviews also to see if they actually make sense (i.e. that they are not just complaining about the speed of shipping, or a crystal vase shattering, when they very briefly dropped it on concrete floor)), then please click to see my other reviews - not all of them are 5-stars as I usually feel more motivated to give a bad review to vent out disappointment than to praise a product if it is as expected and I am satisfied with it. But like I said already, I believe this one deserves to be praised especially considering that it has only one other review at the moment and my review might actually end up being helpful to you.

BASS??... i DON'T KNOW... I'm a Guitar Picker...
Ok here's my 2 cents worth... I got this amp to have as a back up and have it as a small amp for bass that I don't play often and decided to run my pedals thru it and my electric guitar and I was astounded by the way it sounds... I've only used it for a small amount of time and the speaker is not even broken in yet... This thing is very Loud for a 20 watt amp and it could be used for Jazz Guitar because it's so clean... I was talking to my producer over seas and last night we were having a conversation thru skipe as I was playing that thing and he Loved it... Can't wait to run my GT8 ( guitar processor ) thru it... Love the Closed Back on the cab...… Up date on this... Speaker's finally broken in and I ran my mp3 playing all kinds of music from my personal music ( over 750mgps of original copy rights at The Library of Congress ) for about a total of 15 hours listening to my favorite Jazz station WUCF 89.9 FM and all kinds of music from Rock to Blues to Country etc. What surprises me is the way the speaker handles all of the frequencies with such cleanliness... This thing is The Ultimate Full Range Speaker... I hope these things don't go up in price as the other ones have like the 5 watt tube and the 15 watt combos have... I will buy more of these just to have as Xtrass and keep them in storage...Well the speaker went... and I put a Skar Audio FSX8-4 8" 350 Watt 4 Ohm Pro Audio Midrange, and I'm breaking in again.. This is what speaker should have been in it from the start... It fit perfectly, only thing is the logo's upside down... WHO CARESssssss...
