Japanese Extreme Super Sour Lemon Flavored 3 Layered Intense Candy Challenge

My daughter and I are sour junkies! I saw these on a TV show and decided to give them a try.The day they got delivered, 7 of us tried the Sour Candy Challenge". Only 1, a self confessed "weakling" couldn't hack it and reached for a napkin.To be honest, they aren't really that sour. You do get a nice 7.5/10 burst for the first 2-3 seconds. Unlike other sour candy however, there is a very faint sour taste throught the candy (if you aren't a biter). I kept hoping the sourness was leaking from the center and I would get a nice sour burst at the end, but I didn't.We all did agree that it is a really delicious tasting lemon candy. I would say it is probably the best hard candy I've ever had. It is a very natural lemon taste.Overall, they aren't as sour as I thought they would be. I do love the taste and the constant (but very light) sour throughout. If your looking for something that is going to make you squirm and make your teeth feel like they will fall out immediately then maybe this isn't for you. They are on the pricey side, but the flavor of the lemon is worth it!

The initial burst of sourness is an 8.5/10. It still maintains a level of sourness throughout the candy though, which is nice because a lot of other sour (lemon) candies tend to no longer be sour after that initial coating is gone. I like lemon flavored things so this is great. The price seems a bit pricey, but I don't mind paying this price every now and then.

Very good lemon flavor kinda tastes like lemonade was slightly disappointed by the sour as it’s wasn’t as strong of a sour as I expected. every piece seemed to have different amounts of sour flavoring so some were more sour than others. over all a very good lemon flavored candy but lacked the sour I was looking for. I will most likely buy these candies again as overall I did enjoy them.

Now I like lemon hard candy and I particularly like it sour. I've tried a few, but most hard candy is mostly sweet with a little flavor thrown in. Jolly Rancher lemon is a good strong lemon flavor and very slightly sour, all the way through. I've tried Warheads, and that was a big mistake: kid's candy, super chemical-like sourness on the outside which quickly gives way to a rather disappointing, insipid lemon sweet.But these are OK! They're nicely sour on the outside, so they shock when you pop one in. But this coating gives way to a more subtle sourness with good strong lemon flavor, with these two qualities seeming to last all the way through the candy. I'll be buying these again!

I was initially very pleased with the extreme sour flavor until @ a minute later when all the outer coating was gone n now I just simply have a lemon ball. I was looking forward t the entire candy being extremely sour like the outside coating.

These have a coating that make them very sour. Not so sour they cause crying or vomiting or anything crazy like that. But they seem to have a coating that makes them more sour than standard Lemonheads initially. The initial bits wears off to a pleasant, lemony, flavor that is still sour but more manageable.

It's supposed to be extreme super sour, right?I took one, I did feel sour but far from it from calling it super or extreme sour.It's just different kind of lemonhead. If you believe lemonhead candy is sour to you, then you can say that this candy might be extreme (but without "super").It's just a sour candy, something you can get from local store for less than a $1 or $2.But you are paying the same value for more because it is imported from Japan. (Not worth your money)I honestly feel like I'm robbed by the seller's over exaggerated description - EXTREME SUPER SOUR!!!!!I dont think I would ever buy it again or recommend to anyone.

Ohhhh yes, these are sour!! When I was a child, I had a much worse addiction for sour things--rice vinegar, warheads, ...the worst was probably when I immigrated to the US and discovered those yellow/green bottles of lemon/lime juice concentrate people use for cooking. I would drink those straight from the bottles...that led to a lot of heartburns and sensitive teeth. But I've toned down a lot now. Of all the candies in my junk food collection right now, this is the only one so sour. The candy is very well-made, not rough surfaced like the lemon drops you can get at grocery stores. My favorite part is of course the outer layer, and the taste that comes beyond that coat is good too....I'm just not sure if I can tell a distinct inner layer.................but overall very happy with the purchase!
