Pain to apply, excellent results
I have black hair with gray all over it. This thing covered my grays for nearly 2 months. First time user, followed package instructions. The results show about a day after application. My hair was smooth and dark after application. The areas where the greys were, looked very, very dark violet in white fluorescent light although in sunlight looked black. And it's a pain to apply, leaving it on for about 90 minutes, it smells terrible but, it does the job and it's a thousand times better than the chemical, regular dyes (that also smell horrible). It's expensive. I have long hair down the middle of my back and had to use almost an entire jar but, hey, it's worth it. Results were great. Will continue to use and recommend this. I also recommend Googling other additional tips in order to cover the greys on black hair just in case. For example, I'd leave it more than 90 minutes next time.

What the ingredients really are?!
A previous review mentioned the ingredients of this product are chemical. You really should get a dictionary and find out the meaning before your comment! The ingredients are the scientific name for Hanna, Indigofera and Lawsonia inermis are both natural plant-based ingredients commonly used in henna hair dyes. • Indigofera (typically Indigofera tinctoria) is a plant that produces a natural blue dye, often used in combination with henna to achieve darker shades like brown or black. • Lawsonia inermis is the scientific name for henna, a plant that naturally releases a red-orange dye. Both are 100% natural and plant-derived, not synthetic chemicals. However, some henna products may contain additives or synthetic dyes, so it’s always good to check for pure, high-quality sources.

Does not work
I used this three times and the last time I left it for 4 hours, even used dark coffee as part of the mixture as suggested. I have some grey near the roots. After the last attempt two weeks ago my and after washing my hair it was obvious Henna did not work. Finally decided to write a review. Much too late to return the product.

Great color - just get the mix right.
This henna is amazing. My hair comes out with the perfect dark ashy deep brown. I mix in a little dark brown henna which i think helps conditioning and use coffee as the base with a little vinegar and oil or an egg. My hair is healthy and the color is great. Making sure you leave it on an hour and starting with your most hard-to-cover grays helps, as does getting the right consistency... if it is too dry and crumbly it tends to not color as well. Once you get the mix right it works like a dream and is non toxic and good for the hair.

Works , you need to find the right combination.
Given that I have been a regular henna user, the reddish orange tinge was obvious. Like many of the users, I was skeptical but gave it 3 tries 1) followed the instructions in the small pamphlet without apple cider on a small patch. But that did not work 2) tried another test with apple cider vinegar and even that too did not color the patch. 3)after googling a bit, found that mixed with henna just before you are ready to apply, since the dye release times are different , should work ! Unsure of the ratios, the first two trials did not give any visible results. However the 3rd try gave me visible results. I had to use equal portions of both regular and black henna, to cover the greys and the usual color of regular henna. It works and yes, results would vary by hair type and color. I would recommend using this product with regular henna for better results especially if you are a regular henna user. Hope this helps!

Very Good Product
I rarely write any reviews but this product is really good for anyone who is allergic to hair color. I ordered this for my mom and she loves it. My mom is EXTREMELY allergic to hair color and her dermatologist recommended this and she loves it ever since. It's better if you have someone to help you apply it for you. I usually help my mom do it by mixing it with warm water into a paste. I wear gloves and use my own hands and just rub the paste into her grey roots and eventually cover her whole head (be warned that it's very dirty so my mom usually wears a cape before doing this so nothing gets into her clothes, and it's better if you do this in the bath tub or outside). Be sure you leave it on for at least 1:30 or 2 hr before you wash it off (the longer the better). The color comes out is amazing, and my mom hair is really soft and shiny. She definitely loves it and kept asking me to order more for her. To keep the result she wants, I help her apply this every two-three weeks. This review is for Henna Powder Color & Conditioner, Parisian Black 4 oz.

Works well on my hair
I have been using Black Rainbow Henna and it has been working well. It lasts on my hair about 2-3 weeks. Initially I used dark brown rainbow henna, that didn't color my hair well. My natural hair color is black and I am Indian. Black color appears more dark brown. I use two Tetley tea bags and boiled them in water. I mixed henna with 2 table spoons of Apple cider vinegar and keep this mixture for 2-3 minutes and then add boiled tea water and then mix them well. I apply this mixture on my hair right away and cover my head with plastic cap. I keep the mixture on hair about 60 to 75 minutes.
