I shave in the shower and was looking for something that I could leave out all the time within reach of the shower, but wouldn’t swell up and become impossible to use like a traditional styptic pencil when exposed to humid air. I’ve had many of them that became impossible to remove from their plastic tube due to swelling. This item does exactly what I wanted! As luck would have it, I went for nearly three weeks without a razor cut after receiving this. Kind of like it never rains when I remember to take an umbrella. But yesterday I finally cut my upper lip while shaving. I pulled off one of the small “matches” from the book, wet it under the shower, and applied it to the cut. The bleeding stopped almost immediately. This product works as advertised, and I’ll be reordering when I get low. Great product!

It's been a while since I did an Amazon review, but I felt this time I had to do it. I bought these styptic styx a few months ago on Amazon after some random article I read. I had my first razor nick since I bought them today, caught the bottom of my lip and it was bleeding like crazy. After a few minutes, I remembered I had these and I used one. It was crazy simple - literally just rubbed it on my lip, and it was closed up in 0.5seconds, no more blood. It was freaking AMAZING! I will mention that it probably isn't intended to be used on lips haha. The taste was not pleasant. But if it CAN work that well on my lip - I'm sure it'll be perfect for any other razor nick I have on my face. And a 60-pack for 7 bucks is insane. So yeah, I seriously cannot recommend these strongly enough - it's just a "must have" for all men and probably most women!

Dude, this pack of “stop the blood” is awesome. When me & the wife are tipsy and the knife play gets a little screwy, it comes in pretty handy. Next I’ll look into their o in & needle set in case a body part were to accidentally get severed!

The product itself works great. However, I only rated it at 3 stars because both of the larger size "Pencils" were broken at the base upon receipt. I doubt that this will impact their effectiveness, but the fact that they were broken in shipment and cannot be used as intended by the manufacturer is a problem.

Styptic pencils work great for little shaving nicks and I had used them for decades, but once I tried these, I ditched them all. These little "styptic matches" are much less messy, and less bulky for your travel bag, yet work just as well. May want to find a tiny ziplock baggie to put one of these matchbooks into before you toss it in your shaving bag, though, because you don't want them to get wet.
