Aquarium CO2
Using this for an aquarium CO2 setup. Works great. Refills cost me about $5 at the local big box sporting goods store and last about 3 months at approx one bubble per second. The setup I’ve found to work well with this CO2 tank:A paintball tank adapter fitted for the regulator you’re planning to use. I’m using a simple $60 regulator with solenoid controlled by a ph controller. Some type in inline atomizer connected to the return from a canister. All items from amazon. The solenoid and ph controller maintain a ph of 7.25 in 60 gallons.Refills being relatively very inexpensive (buy four at $5 and the fifth one is free) and the simplicity of stopping in for a quick refill after work are two convenient perks. I believe most of the larger chain sporting good stores will fill these.Hopefully those looking at this product with the same idea in mind can extract some useful info from the above to make a more informed decision.

Paint Me a Money-Saving Fool!
OK, I'll admit it, I was a big-time sucker. I bought a Sodastream machine, and have used it nonstop for the last three years, probably saving myself from having to toss hundreds, if not thousands of plastic bottles or aluminum cans. I feel good about that. Even recently, when Sodastream changed the design of their bottles and began jacking up the price of their flavors, I stuck with it. However, after buying my upteenth refill of CO2 for $30 at Bed Bath and Beyond, I finally decided to take the paintball plunge and buy a couple of these tanks and an adapter to use in my Sodastream as I figure I'm giving them more than enough of my money now paying over $3 more a bottle for flavors than I did a couple of years ago.So I bought two of these tanks and an adapter and got them filled at Dicks Sporting Goods and they work perfect, for about 1/5 the price of an official Sodastream refill. Now I just wish I could get my deposit back for those empty tanks. I wonder if anyone makes a "reverse adapter" so you can fill the official Sodastream tanks with a larger CO2 tank like the one at Dicks.....Pros:• Save big time $$Cons:• Need an adapter

Great for soda
This canister has worked great for my soda machine. Yes, it contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer. It's called paint, and for this reason I recommend against eating this canister or trying to shave bits of it into your salad. All jokes aside, I did get a slight petroleum taste in my first bottle of soda, so I recommend dumping out your first five bottles of soda if you use this canister for that purpose. I did this, and have not noticed any odd taste in subsequent bottles.

Be advised: Valve Malfunctions - CO2 won't flow correctly
This is an otherwise well made tank and may work for many purposes as described in the manufacturer's text and also in the many reviews posted here. I use it EVERY DAY making carbonated water. However, the depression valve on top [which is depressed to fill and also to release the CO2] is a loose fitting part that can be adjusted up or down to change the "interaction point" with the different functional devices: filling tank or Soda machine. This valve (as seen on top with the small hole in it) is made to be adjusted with a tiny Allen Wrench. Unfortunately, for me anyway, the valve tends to "self-adjust" during use and screws down until the CO2 will not flow out from the SodaStream machine... nor will it flow in correctly when I go to refill it. I actually keep the Allen Wrench in my kitchen drawer so that I can adjust it back when this happens. Very disappointed that it functions this way instead of a pre-set button that is not adjustable. Be advised!

Technical data you won't normally see.
What can be said about a tank, except that it works as it's supposed to. The tank is about 3-1/4 inches in diameter and stands about 12-1/4 inches high. The tank is a DOT type 3AL, and is made of 6061-T6 seamless aluminum. The weight of this tank empty is 2 lbs.-1.9 oz. Weighing the filled tank will give you a quick check as to whether they put in a full 24 oz. of CO2, or significantly shorted you, as many filling places apparently do.This pressurized CO2 tank must be hydrostatic-tested to 3000 psi (which is 5/3 of its operating pressure of 1800 psi) at a proper testing facility after 5 years and every 5 years thereafter per DOT regulations to ensure that it capable of withstanding working pressure without failure. I bought mine in August 2014, The "born date" stamped on my tank is May 2014, so Amazon has a fairly quick turnaround. Please note that it is illegal (and foolhardy) to fill a tank past its hydrotest date without the test. This tank (as opposed to carbon fiber tanks) has no life limit, which means that it may be refilled after it passes each of its 5 year tests.I bought my tank with a Sodastream CO2 Adapter for use with the Sodastream beverage carbonation system, and not for paintball use, so the tank weight or bulk was of no concern. If you are using the tank for paintball use, consider a smaller (and hence lighter) tank. For paintball use, a 24 oz tank would give about 1500 shots.

tank leaks where the valve threads into tank and pin valve
I have had the 24 oz tippmann CO2 tank for going on 4 months in a few days. I use it on a Sodastream machine with an adaptor. The last time I had it filled I noticed air bubbles leaking into a water bottle i had just screwed on and before pushing the valve. I got looking into it and figured it was likely the adaptor. Turns out the major leak was the pin valve, but I noticed an oil spot around the caution label on the valve body. I put some water on the base of the valve and saw bubbles coming out. So Amazon says my window to return ended in Feburuary, I have filled it 4 times (should have only been three without a leak) and now I have a nice shiney paper weight. I am not sure if the valve body threads leaking is a common problem but I didn't find alot about it online, The pin valve There was a bit about.

Great tank and price.
The description is off, it is a Tippmann tank. None the less great price, I use it for my high tech planted tank with a aquatek CO2 regulator from eBay. In town they sell this tank for $90.00, I'm getting a second one! This tank has the proper markings for canada.

Good quality
Excellent quality and size, does the job as described. I use it for my Aquarium plants. It does come empty of CO2, so i filled it up for $11 CAD. I used it withe the adapter i bought combined.

Not what I was expecting
Someone was obviously wrenching the valve head and slipping off as it was all chewed up and it was missing the pressure relief valve rendering the bottle useless

Nice size. MIGHT be too small for a 30G aquarium for Co2 - lasts about 2months.
I like the size and I bought 2 - I go to the store about every 2 months to get both refilled for a 30G aquarium.
