MIAO LAB 1.33x Mobile Anamorphic Lens with Star Filter and CPL Filter Lens for iPhone, Pixel, Samsung Galaxy and OnePlus

Bought this lens for my android smartphone. Find it more applicable than any other lens, particularly for my pixel smartphone. The design is different from most smartphone lenses (particularly the anamorphic lenses), but I find that this works with my smartphone when using filters and such. The metal clip I am no fan of, especially when using a third-party app such as filmic pro for video, which this lens is mostly used for.For the price, it's actually decent if you're just starting out doing a video for your smartphone. There are other lenses twice the price, but if you're doing this as a hobby, eventually doing something more with smartphone video making, then this is a good start. Just wish they reissue the lens for the new year, even better, make a 1.55x lens with the same built and design. One can only hope.

This lens was absolutely amazing and at less than half the cost of some competitors. Also, something that's completely unique to this lens. It's round instead of square. That means you can fit screw-on 37mm filters directly to the front of the lens! Now that's unique!The quality was amazing. No blurred edges and no real noticeable distortion. It has markings on the front of the lens so it's easy to make sure the lens is oriented correctly (the small "equals" symbols orient horizontally). And once you mount the lens to your camera tightly, there is a click detent built into this lens that makes it easy to get it oriented just right.I use a DJI Mobile Osmo 3 gimbal and even though this lens is heavy like all anamorphic lenses, and even though I also used a very heavy combination CPL and variable ND filter, I was still able to balance it adequately on my gimbal by using offset weights I purchased for my gimbal.Having said all this, please realize that anamorphic lenses create video that is at a 2.35:1 aspect ratio, not the typical 1.78:1 High Definition aspect ratio. This means that there will be fairly large black bars at the top and bottom of all your videos shot with this lens when viewed on typical high definition monitors. That's because anamorphic lenses were originally designed for theaters with very wide screens to project "CinemaScope" movies. If you just shoot casual video for yourself, family, and friends or you shoot documentaries, I wouldn't recommend using an anamorphic lens like this one. That would be unusual. This is really for people that shoot movies and want a more cinematic look and are willing to have their non-theater viewers deal with black bars at the top and bottom of their viewing screens. None of this is anything against this lens or this company however.

Using this lens on iPhone 6s. The phone is small, light. The lens is heavier than the phone. Cumbersome to try to use camera/lens without some kind of grip: tripod, pistol grip, etc. The image quality is excellent. Intuitive to use. May not want to hold to phone for too long. Fatigue.

This was my first anamorphic lens and I was excited to get it. I also bought a SmallRig universal phone cage and was looking forward to using the lens without that spring clip. The cage accepts a 17mm thread mount or bayonet mount. This lens has a 17mm mount so I thought I was ready to go. Then I discovered it has an atypical thread pitch and will not screw into the SmallRig cage. To confirm that the pitch was actually the problem I tried screwing the lens into a couple of other 17mm spring clips and they wouldn't go. My other 17mm lenses and filters fit easily into the cage and other clips. Why on earth would they do this? Bummed.

This anamorphic lens will make your videos look and feels more Cinematic. If you want to get the real Cinematic black bars on your videos, this is the real deal. No fake black bars but it really adjust your video ratio to produce a more horizontal field of view which is what the human eye can really see.Lens flare was also present which is really a thing with anamorphic lens giving your videos a more distinct look when it hits the sun or the lights. Love this feature.Pair it with the FilmicPro or the Moment App to get the best results.It’s also cheaper than it’s competition.

really just wanted to film high quality videos ... ended up downloading the $5 app so it was more compatible with the phone but didnt make a huge difference... still distorted and a little dissapointing

El producto es resistente y produce buenas imágenes con un aspecto panorámico. Tiene algunos problemas con tomas muy cerradas, pero para planos generales las imágenes son increíbles.Lo mejor de todo es que puedo usar mis filtros de 52mm.Lo no tan bueno es que el lente produce un efecto que agranda el cuerpo.Lo recomiendo para probar el anamórfico y para tomas long shots que produce unos flares muy espectaculares. Pero no es para todo el mundo ni para todos los dispositivos. Yo lo uso en mi Iphone SE del 2016 y estoy encantado.
