Unbelievable. Can save A LOT of work.
I used a friend's Dewalt camera to find a water leak between my parent's roof and kitchen ceiling. They have a flat roof and water was accumulating in a certain spot on the kitchen ceiling. A hole was drilled to fit the camera through it and was able to find the exact location of the leak which wasn't coming from the roof but from a vent on the exterior wall. Without this camera, I probably would've torn apart a good portion of the kitchen ceiling or wasted a lot of material trying to seal the roof. Being able to remove the LCD and working with the camera on a ladder while manuevering it upside down, was key. It's very light and adjusting the light sensitivity was key, as well. I loved this thing so much that I purchased one for myself. I've used it on cable runs, plumbing work, working around the car, etc. This camera has already paid for itself, ten-fold!

could be bettter
i was pleased with the performance of this tool, the resolution could be better in fact i think it should be because the camera and picture quality is not as good as some others in the same price range but with that being said the other features are what the "others" lack which is why i purchased this one. the versatility of this inspection camera is what sets it apart, three different camera sizes can be purchased for this unit, the screen can be removed and used wireless although you cant get the range they advertise, after about four feet from the base the signal gets eratic and unless both the camera and the base are held very still you get allot of static and the ability to take still images and record video. the l.e.d's on the camera head could be brighter and better placed, when you have the light as bright as it will go it it causes a white aura around the screen but not enough to cover anything in veiw of the camera. one other thing i noticed about this tool after using it for awhile was that it sometimes will not orient the screen image level all the time, meaning that as you twist and bend the camera around it seems to throw it off a few degrees where when holding the camera level it will tilt the image slightly, once again not a big deal cause im not shooting a movie with it. there wasnt an advertised focus range that i found but the 17mm camera will focus clearly from about three inches to as far as you would like away(when i get the 5.5mm camera i will add the focus range to my reveiw) I considered buying either the 9mm or the 5.5mm kit instead of the 17mm mainly because i would be using it primarily for automotive applications until i realized if i bought the 17mm kit and purchased the 9mm or 5.5mm camera seperate i would only be paying an extra $15 or so all together and i get two different options on camera heads to use for around the same price as buying the 9mm or 5.5mm kit. bottom line from other reveiws i have read and researched this is not the best for image quality but it has features you will pay more for in other inspection cameras to get them all in one unit. it is surprisingly durable, my son has dropped the screen and camera body a few times and i have had no ill efects as a result. i give this tool a thumbs up for the average handyman, mechanic or homeowner but not for someone needing accurate and up close inspection camera.

I Am LIking This Scope A LOT!!
As I am about to tackle some home renovating tasks (some, of which, will entail getting behind walls), I had been wanting an inspection scope. Three days ago, I had purchased the Ryobi Tek4 scope, which (I also have to say) was a great little unit. The one thing that I didn't like about the Ryobi was that the cable was permanently attached to the scope's body. If that cable had, somehow, became damaged, I could only see it spelling the demise of the whole setup So I returned it. After doing a bit more researching, I considered two others: one by Milwaukee, and the other by Dewalt. I did have the opportunity to have a bit of physical interaction with the Milwaukee, at Home Depot, and thought it to be nice. I didn't have that same opportunity with the Dewalt, but was impressed with what I was able to gain from product description, and photos, on the net. For about the same money, the Milwaukee came with an impact driver in its kit, but that didn't factor into anything, for me, as I have a number of drivers already. The Dewalt was considered - first and foremost - because of knowing of their tool's quality & durability. The larger screen, detachable cable, and the ability to capture still shots & footage were the things that won me over.Well, I ordered it - the same day that I returned the Ryobi - and received my Dewalt scope on yesterday. I couldn't WAIT to charge the battery up, and put this baby to the test. All I can say is that this is ONE GREAT TOOL. It is going to help me so much, with what I have to do around here.

Good camera for the price
First camera purchased was defective. Screen would show static then go blank. Sent back and got a replacement within about 2 days. Second camera worked perfectly.Note you have to charge the base, then attach the screen, which charges the screen. Once charged there is a rolling switch on the handset which sends power to the camera and adjusts the intesity of the light. The picture is okay, not overly sharp, but clear. The SIM card does not come with the unit, you have to buy one seperately if you want to save recordings or stills of what you are looking at. These are pretty inexpesive. I got a two pack for around $10.00.The case is sturdy and protects the camera and equipment well. All around good value for an occasional user.

Herramienta especializada.

Good Image
This camera is used for inspecting first few feet of ducts or dark nooks and crannies. The image is better than most others I tried. Focuses well, near and far. Not for pros but not the pro price, good for quick inspection and all the features work well. Battery charges quickly.

Not worth the price
The 12v battery does not hold long and there's no adapter to have 20v batteries powering it, if you've standardised on 20v series equipment . Image quality is poor for a C$300 camera and the cord is really difficult to make around corners. There are cheaper options out there. I have around 8 dewalt power tools but I do not recommend this specific one.
