Just what I needed to replace the elastic cords in my hair bonnets with 1/2" elastic bands.
I have a love-hate relationship with my naturally curly hair. When I comb it out completely, it looks like a rat's nest. When I wash it, I have to apply several different products to coat my curls, so they are not affected as badly by the humidity. This time of year, I wear my shoulder-length hair up on my head because of summer's heat. I work outside a lot in the gardens, and my hair instantly frizzes, an on-going battle. I sleep with silk or satin bonnets all year long. I recently decided to fix my old bonnets that have an elastic cord you can pull tightly or release with the press of a black ball. Even though I have expanded the elastic cord as long as it can go, I wake up by morning with indentations on my forehead. I took a photo when I last wore my dark purple scrunchie.Several months ago, my aunt gave me a lot of her sewing notions, including several sizes of elastic bands. I figured I could replace the cords and press-balls in all 12 of my hair bonnets, if only I had some ½” size bra strap sliders. I first searched for them at a big box craft store and couldn’t believe how expensive they were for just a few, and they didn’t even have the size I needed. If they had ½”, I would have had to purchase 6 packages at a cost of $21.00. Yikes! (I tried to attach an edited photo of the package, but the Amazon AI refused to post my original review, so I removed it.) I also only needed the color white. Grateful for Amazon, I ordered white Tupalizy 240PCS Bra Strap Hooks for only one-third the cost of the craft store product and have tons of extra fasteners, all stored inside a small plastic case. There are two sizes of rings, sliders, and hooks, 40 pieces each. Now, I’m not a seamstress by any means, but I’ve hemmed pants and sewn buttons before. I don’t have a sewing machine, so I knew I’d have to rely on my arthritic fingers to work on this project. Once I untied and removed the press-ball from the cord, I used a safety pin to slowly maneuver the elastic through the bonnet where the fabric gathers. It took quite a while, and since then, I’ve ordered a 9 1/4" spring loop threader that will speed up my future bonnet modifications and relieve my fingers (photo). I tried my bonnet on while 2 safety pins were attached so that I wouldn’t lose one end, just to make sure I threaded enough of the elastic band, about 20”, before I cut it. I did not want the bonnet to be too tight, of course. For reference, my head circumference is 22”. I then hand-sewed some small hems at the elastic ends after I securely pulled the other end through the Tupalizy slider. I took various photos to show what I’ve explained. I'm proud of my “bonnet achievement.” 11 more to do!Overall, these Tupalizy sliders fit my ½” elastic bands perfectly, and this product is definitely more economical at the current price of only $6.99 for 240 pieces of white fasteners, than the ones sold at craft stores.

Lots of pieces & good quality
I was surprised on how many I received. The quality was great and many different sets to choose from. The case it came in was nice because it locks so you can keep them in a nice place all together. Great buy

So, these were all quite small
I was a bit disappointed that these were as small as they were. I expected there to be various sizes leading up to the larger ones, but that was not what was in this 240 piece pack. These are however good for smaller projects or small children’s sized projects or repairs.

Crochets sheaps
La qualité de ses crochets est médiocre. J'ai fait 3 maillots et j'ai du remplacer tous les crochets. Le plastique devient sec et les crochets cassent

Garbage... Broke the first time
Bought these to use in an adjustable dress I'm making and one of the loops snapped the first time I tried to slide it (after sewn together). Will order metal ones for the future.
