I had looked locally for a shorter length tension rod, without success. SO happy to find this on Amazon. I needed it to put up a privacy curtain to screen off side of house where guest suite is. This is in place only when we have guests & this is super easy to put up & take down. It worked perfectly with selected curtains which have tabs on back for the rod. Since one end of the rod is removable, this is perfect. Also, the rod is sturdy & stays put when adjusted to right length. No nails or hardware needed which would mar the doorframe. Perfect!

This is a quality curtain rod. The color is called "bronze," however, it is a medium brown with a bronze undertone. Remember, the rod is ususally not at eye level. So, the rod just needs to be "in the family" of the color that you're looking for. It doesn't need to be a perfect match. I was looking for a medium/dark brown. It works just fine.Now, on to the functionality of the rod -- Nothing could be easier. Just open the box, remove the celephane wrap, and walk over to your opening and put your rod up. Twist the rod clockwise to make it longer. Twist the rod counterclockwise to make it shorter. Just measure your opening, and be sure to buy the correct size (rod) lenght that you need. Another feature I like about this rod is the rubber ends. When you twist the rod to get it tight for your opening, the rubber ends compress a bit to make for a snug fit. I bought a white linen curtain which was the perfect length for my opening. However, I didn't really think about the large, chrome rings on the curtain. Obviously, the chrome and the bronze do not match-- but I'm over it. Lastly, the end caps of the rod can easily pull off so you can thread any opening that can fit the rod. (Or use curtain rings if your curtain does not have built in rings like mine does.)Now, drumroll please... I'll tell you why I am putting this random curtain up in my house. This particular cased opening does not have a door. I'm tired of heating this end of the house since we don't really occupy this area. So this curtain will stop all the heat from going in this area. When the weather moderates, I will take down the rod and the curtain. It will take 2 seconds to remove.

So far its working.. It fell the first time but hasn't since. Its holding curtain and liner and staying up. Was easy to install, good grip, quality looks good.

Lightweight and stays in place. Holds up even heavy shower curtains with a plastic liner at the same time. No sag and looks good. Shower curtain hooks slide nicely across it without making a ton of noise. Can't beat it for the price you pay.
