Best Electric Pencil Sharpener - Battery Operated - For Home, Office, Kids, Teachers - Green

I got this for my 6 year old grandson because he always loved my pencil sharpener and soon all my pencils were just little nubs. Among the little gifts I got for kindergarten graduation was a big pack of Star Wars pencils. The pencil sharpener was perfect for the gift and he loved it. Works really well at a great price.

I purchased this sharpener to sharpen colored pencils. It worked fine for the the first 2 pencils and from then on started destroying pencils. I have 2 brand new batteries in there so I know there is enough power going to the sharpener. Instead of a nice clean shave of the pencil, it pulverizes the wood and continuously breaks off the lead. Its useless. Colored pencils are too expensive to waste like that. I'm tossing it rather than return it. I don't know what's going on with Amazon lately but many items I've received from them lately have been broken or had problems. I'm tired of the returns.

Once the pencils are sharp, they're really sharp, but it's not a great sharpener for me. I'm using it for colored pencils, and so far it's breaking more of the tips than sharpening, and I'm reluctant to keep using it because of how much of the pencil it's chewing through each time. I also didn't expect to need to use two hands to work the sharpener. The first time I inserted a pencil without bracing the sharpener with my other hand, the whole thing spun around the pencil I was trying to sharpen and knocked the rest of my pencils off the desk. We bought fresh batteries, so I don't think it's an issue of not enough juice.

worksd great for about a week when it started running on its own. It has batteries and no on/off switch so I have to take the batteries out or it just runs. I have to put the batteries back in to use it. Was very convenient until that happened.

I got some colored pencils for my kids and this worked pretty well with those until my toddler tried to sharpen a pen. I love how small it is, making it easy to store with the kids' pencils. The only things I didn't like was it would sharpen really well with fresh batteries but after using it for a few days it would slow down a lot. It would still sharpen it just took longer and sounded bogged down. Also for little hands it can be tricky because you have to hold the pencil and the sharpener or the sharpener spins uselessly in circles since it is so small. But for a small portable sharpener it was great. For the occassional pencil it's a good choice. Definitely beats a hand sharpener!

The size of the shavings container is small but the power and sharpness of the pencils was great..Easy to use top opening was a convenience..Good sharpener for the price.

Best to be used at home for every day purpose with ease of operation without any risk of MIS-handling by kids.

Stopped working after I sharpened one pencil. Wouldn't sharpen anymore. The batteries got really hot and even after it cooled down it didn't work any longer. I am really disappointed as I was looking for a decent inexpensive sharpener for my kindergartener, but after i finished sharpening the first pencil, it is apparent that this one is not the sharpener for us.
