T-H Marine GL-2-DP Pontoon Gate Latch - Gray

I replaced three tricky original latches on our pontoon boat with these which are very easy to operate and install. Other reviewers have complained about the weak, triangular stop, and I agree that it looks flimsy. So I added a metal stop along the doorway bottom keeping the door from swinging outward. The latch seems sturdy enough and works easily from inside or out. You may have to drill two new holes in your aluminum railing, but it's easy and I was able to cover my old holes with the new latch. It also latches tightly (you can adjust the force) so there is no door play or banging. We'll see how long the plastic lasts over the winters, but these are cheap enough to replace every few years if necessary.

I purchased this latch to replace the nearly identical latch that came with my pontoon boat when it was new. The original latch is a piece of cheap plastic that breaks easily, this part is of the same quality. It lasted about 3 months before it cracked and the flat latch piece broke off. I wish these were made with metal, but unfortunately I think this latch is the only option for the design of my pontoon gate. To add insult to injury the Amazon seller (T.H. Marine) charges $9.00 for shipping on this latch with they sell for [...]. It is a small, very light piece of plastic that costs less than $2.00 to ship! I'll be looking locally for my next replacement latch.

I only needed to replace one, but came in a three pack. Have made additional repairs since then.

Worked perfectly and looks nice as well on her pontoon boat.

Good latch for pntoon boat even if it is plastic took forever to get it from USPS they are piss poor now a days but a good product next time I buy will pay for ups with signature required

The unit pulls loose the first time someone try’s to open incorrectly
