They are perfect for exactly the effect I was trying to go for!Couple things:--> Motion sensor has relatively small activation cone, so you have to be mindful about where it's placed.--> There's no permanent ON button. There is an OFF and Brightness button, but whenever it's on, it only turns on or stays on with detected motion.--> This is NOT a continuous LED strip. It is several segments, connected by unlit wiring. So if you need continuous light coverage, you will need to loop that bit around in a clamp or something.--> They come with sticky adhesive on the back, as well as an assortment of clips. I personally left the adhesive alone and used a set of third party clips.Overall, like them a lot, and is a welcome alternative to the previous options of blinding blast or pitch black for late night or early morning trips to the bathroom.

These are very easy to install and provide the perfect night light when I need to get up in the middle of the night or come into the room at night since I do not have an entry switch-controlled light in the room. As soon as my feet hit the ground the lights come on and stay on long enough for me to get out of the room. The motion detection sensor is well made although not as sensitive from a distance but it does light up after about a foot when I enter the room. The pictures I attached show it with full brightness but you can dim the lights to suit your needs. Everything you need for installation is included and the connecting wire between the light strips allow you to negotiate corners easily. For the straight sections, I looped the connecting wire and held it in place with the extra clips provided so it is not visible or dangling loose.

Very nice high quality product. Six settings from dim to full bright provide desired ambient lighting. Appears well made and worked as described - except for one design flaw: the motion sensor setting resets whenever power is turned off to the device. One star deduction for this.I set these up on a timer-controlled outlet to turn on in the evening. 15 seconds later, they turned off. I actually did not want motion sensor control and expected that that feature could be turned off. Govee’s responsive customer service staff quickly informed me that was not possible.However, I found a way to permanently disable the motion sensor such that the lights are simply on/off and the dimmer control still works (the blue light around the sensor still lights, even though the sensor is no longer connected.The photos show a previously soldered connector on the circuit board where I pried the solder off with the tip of a very small flat screwdriver. A new controller will have these two pins connected by a solder joint. Simply pry off the back cover of the white controller (I inserted a small flat screwdriver to separate the back panel; it clicks apart fairly easily. Then locate the soldered connector shown in the photo and scrape off the solder (the removed piece of solder is the speck shown at the right edge of the first photo). Replace the cover and install. The on/off switch and the dimmer switch continue to function, but motion sensing is disabled.Note that there is a risk that attempting this may damage or destroy the unit (and likely voids the warranty); but considering how inexpensive the device is, I did not care.I bought two of these and modified both. The media could not be loaded.  Pretty nice! I’ve attached the lights to the bottom of the kitchen counter and it stayed pretty well attached. Used all of the little white clips to help with cable management, and added few of mine to hide the long USB cable. The light sensor and motion sensor are very precise. I love the ability to hold power button to turn off the sensor so the lights are always on, if needed. There are 6 levels of brightness, 1 is great for the night, as it’s dim enough to act like a night light. Very well built, good quality, great little product.

These lights are perfect. Perfect perfect perfect! They were super easy to install (like, 15 minutes including figuring out where to plug them in and where to place the sensor). I was worried about the sensor based on other reviews, but for my purposes, it works amazingly! As long as you are moving around within its range, the lights stay on! A+++

It worked fairly well while it worked, but only lasted 11 1/2 months before just never turning on again.I loved that I could adjust brightness and the warm tone. The motion detection worked more often than it didn’t, but definitely not 100% of the time. The underside of my bed frame is uneven, so it made the installation a little more complicated, but that isn’t the item’s fault. What I do consider an issue, is that the adhesive didn’t keep the strip in place, and sections would fall, so I had to secure it a deferent way.

Works great

First I had it at my work table, but I didn’t like that it goes off after every 15secs. So I took it off and put it in my bathroom. And I really love it there. Cool vibe. But still wondered how to keep it on longer. So I came back to read other reviews and found out that I can turn off the sensor. Now I love it even more and there is like multiple brightness setting. I will buy another one to keep at my work table. Super easy to install, but make sure you’re certain about where you are placing it because the adhesive is so strong, it took off some paints when I removed it.
