HDC200 SDS-Max Hammer Dust Collection Attachment

This attachment has worked very well. As a general contractor, I frequently need to drill holes in all types of different material ranging from drywall to wood to stone to concrete. I have hooked this vacuum attachment to both a small and large shop vac and it worked great. Whether using it on a wall or on the floor, it produces enough vacuum to hold itself in place. If used on a wall, it is best to keep the vacuum hose in the 6 o'clock position if possible. I also wipe down the perimeter cushion on the base to keep it clean and then store it back in the box for protection.

Second unit I purchased (1st one went missing from job site). This at-point dust capture works as stated, even when the dust vac is getting near capacity. Works best when vac is not full of debris, more-so when used with a vac bag. Yes, it has great suction to cling to a wall providing surface is not too ruff. In the 5+ years of use, I never had to replace the rubber seal, just don't throw it in with other tools that will cause damage to the rubber seal. When drilling holes you must add on depth of this "hood" to the depth stop because its hard to see past the Brush Ring.

My Makita hammer drill died, so I decided to try Bosch. Makita's solution to dust collection is a collection ring that attaches to the drill itself, perhaps the theory being that it saves you time if you're drilling a bunch of holes so you can move from hole to hole without needing to move the dust collector. The problems are 1) it has a ridiculously small hose so your vacuum will likely need an adapter, 2) it may allow insufficient airflow for your vacuum, 3) it doesn't actually trap the dust very well. Yes you do have to move this Bosch collector from target to target, but it's honestly super easy and very handy to just leave the vacuum on, take it off the wall, throw it on the next spot, drill, repeat. It does not waste that much time, and it does a phenomenal job getting the dust while having zero airflow issues with my Dustless Tech concrete dust vac. Love it.

Using these for work inside science labs for modifications. These make clean-up very easy. They actually catch 90% of the dust created. They suction to the wall with the vacuum on. You only have to clean-up the dust that remains when you remove the attachment from the wall.

These fit my set perfectly. And makes clean up much easier.

After having poor results drilling concrete with an SDS Plus Makita rotary hammer, this was a pleasant surprise. I hooked it up to a small Rigid shop vac with an internal dust bag. It held good to a smooth surfaced and did a great job collecting the dust. It is fairly large and can't easily be used on small or irregular surfaces - but that's pretty obvious from looking at the product picture and dimensions.

I bought this hoping it would help in all the mess a drill creates when digging a hole at home but it seems that this has been created for heavy on-site use only. It does help suck all the dust and particles to a reasonable extent, but the damage it creates on the surface is just ridiculous. If you check the photos, you will discover huge dust stamps on the wall after using this product. I know what you're thinking "why not wipe it off"? well for some reason the stamp is just too strong to remove by wiping even when using different cleaning products it just stays there unless you repaint the surface. To me, this product is completely useless.
