We went away for a week and used these in our hanging flower basket, ornamental palm trees, and small potted boxwood bushes. They worked very well and are quite sturdy. Would not hesitate to recommend!

I just bought some more of these, as I don't always remember to remove them from pots before gifting plants (and, yes, there are occasional new plants to outfit but I will never admit that to my husband).We have used these successfully for years to maintain my larger plants that can't easily move into a temporary terrarium when we leave for longer vacations. I use between one and four of these per plant, each supporting a wine bottle full of water. The bottles are usually empty upon our return, but sometimes not, and that tells me no one is getting over-watered with this method. One plant almost reaches our 9ft. ceiling and needs good water support, which this product provides.None of these has broken during use (I have broken them when storing or cleaning, but do not blame the product for that). The wider mouth easily accommodates different sizes and shapes of wine bottles. These spikes are sturdy enough to support the filled bottles even when I don't get them perfectly aligned.This product is well designed and well-made and provides peace of mind during vacations.

My kids suggested these as it’s getting too hot for me to always water my potted plants. Love these but they will break if I’m not careful when inserting the wine/beer bottle but work great!

I have a couple of dwarf fruit trees in pots. We were going to go camping for a week so we bought these to keep them alive. They were thirsty buggers so we used two per tree. I would recommend to start using them a day or two before you leave so the terra-cotta has time to soak up liquid. They worked for the week, so we though we would just leave them in to make our mornings a little less busy. We probably had them in for a month before we decided that they seemed to not be doing as well. We started watering them again ourselves and they were back to normal. I think they work great for a temporary fix though. They were easy to install and we just used empty soda pop bottles to insert. Very user friendly.

I planted some new stuff away from a water source, so these work! I spray painted wine bottles to insert into the clay which is in the ground. Provides a steady and easy water source for a plant that is not convenient to water.

I live in San Antonio, where it is usually over 90 degrees every day in the summer. These keep my plants not only alive but thriving! I highly recommend getting the bundle with the bottles, as they are super light and work great.

But the side wall construction is very thin and when you put in the glass wine bottle they can crack very easily. They do save plants from being parched but be careful when inserting the glass bottle.

I actually left my plants using terracotta spikes with 600cc water bottles. I was away for a week and found them like this when I returned. I put two spikes for the largest plant, more than satisfied and happy to see my plants green and beautiful when I came back home. 100% recommended. When I removed the bottles, there was still water in the spikes even though the bottles were empty, so they could hold for 1 or 2 more days according to my calculations.

Received product as advertised and when it was expected. Looks great and can’t wait to start using.

Was skeptical about it at first, so I tried it. Great for those hot days or going on a trip. Your plants will thank you for it and when you take it out of the pot you will see the roots around the clay spikes looking for that water
