I pulled a 3 pound bass with the hook attached with this. I'd feel very comfortable with fish much heavier. They work great and you get enough in the pack for multiple lures.

similar to small split ring key holder, so link a few to make a chain of desired length, add/remove links to adjust - ends up looking like it was supposed to be there (hooked over hole at end of part lever and over spring's hook) - this lets you try a little longer or shorter chain to see what works best

This little ring is no joke. It will support serious weight!! Just be careful when putting it on or taking it off. I nearly poked a hole in my lower lip with a flathead screwdriver trying to separate the ring from a dog collar. Not like a little key chain ring. This thing is tight!! I'm happy with the purchase and would recommend this product. I would also recommend wearing a face shield and gloves when trying to open this little guy up!

It's hard to tell just from product pictures of split rings if they are high quality or plain old junk. Most of the time it's somewhere in between when they arrive but not Dr. Fish! I don't even use these for fishing but I needed strong and well made split rings made out of stainless steel that was actually stainless steel. It's amazing that some companies sell a 'stainless' product that then starts to rust. Anyway, so far I have purchased two different sizes and when I need other sizes I will be calling the doctor.
