So I have been purchasing Raw Unrefined, Organic Shea butter, for 10+ years, and I have noticed a decline in the quality and authenticity of the Unrefined Shea butter sold from various Amazon vendors. So I started sampling new vendors, and I finally found a GREAT PRODUCT. It is the BEST that I have purchased, in the past couple years!!!Since I often get asked various questions regarding my Shea Butter selection process, I’m going to share my insight…For my personal use of: Raw, Unrefined organic Shea butter — There are 3 main characteristics That I look for:1. COLOR •Quality product can range in color, anywhere from white to pale yellow. [Darker shades of Yellow, tend to suggest that the Shea Butter has been processed, i.e. it is no longer an UNrefined product.] •More importantly, the color of the Shea butter should be uniform in shade. Meaning, the inside of the product should not have swirls or mixtures of colors. If you can noticeably see Multiple different shades within the product, especially a grayish color — it is likely MOLD!!! So RETURN or TRASH IT…2. ODOR •Short answer: NONEHowever, it can be very subjective, based on individuals, smell sensitivity. Quality Shea Butter can range from being Odorless to having a slight ‘Nutty’ smell. [Similar to the smell of “toasted sesame seed oil”] •Please Note - Not all ‘moldy’ or expired Shea butter will smell rancid!Odorless Shea Butter, can STILL be considered “Old/Spoiled”, if the color there is an issue with its color….3. TEXTURE• The IDEAL texture for Raw Unrefined Shea Butter is: GRITTY. This product is perfectly grainy/granular. A quality product has the a sandpaper texture because it is actually UNPROCESSED, And requires Higher temperatures to melt authentic Raw Organic Shea butter.In Summary - I highly RECOMMEND this product!

The media could not be loaded.  Love how this product has 100% clean and vegan ingredients exactly as described. I plan to make my own body body oil, body moisturizer, or body lotion. It’s a great product to start with if you’re adding it to anything that you plan on making for your skin care.

I wish this came in more eco friendly packaging, but the product itself is clearly high quality. Can recommend.

So glad I found this. Always thought shea butter had to be yellow. Used this for peppermint body butters for gifts and plan to use for sunblock too.
