I got this Weck jar specifically for my sourdough starter, and let me tell you—it’s a total upgrade from the sad old mason jar I was using. Recently started making sourdough bread and someone on a sourdough site highly recommended them. I love that these jars come with a few lid options. They are the perfect size too for feeding your sourdough starter. They are all glass so easy to clean up. I actually purchased 2 because I liked the first one so much. I would highly recommend.

Clean rim helping to clean and keep cleaned. Heavy thickness of glass, sturdy. Perfect size imo for starter. Cork and poly lids a plus. Clips a plus for longer term starter storage in refer. I find this to be a good item.

I use this for my sourdough starter. I think it is a handsome jar, but the clips on the lid are difficult to manage.

I have been using this for my sourdough starter (without the gasket) for about a month now. It is perfect. I find that my starter will more than double on the counter in this within 8 hours. Also does well in the fridge and is heavy/sturdy enough to do feedings and mix really well without worrying about if the container is going to give or that you’re going to slosh water everywhere (which is awesome if you’re using a thirstier flour like whole wheat). Just bought another to transfer back and forth so I can give this one a good cleaning. A great product and worth the price!

The entire set came extremely well protected/packed. Weck makes a fantastic product and I love the option of the glass lid with rubber gasket, plastic lid or cork lid but I just wish the price wasn’t so steep. If they had a multi piece set with a price break, I would buy it. Anyway, fantastic for storing homemade bone broth and soups. The wide mouth makes it super easy to fill without spilling.

Once you go Weck you can’t go back! 😊
