A new paradigm in knowing yourself - Excellent read!
Everyone can benefit from knowing more about the concept of human giftedness and how it plays out in their own life. The Person Called You, written by giftedness expert Bill Hendricks, explores this concept and invites the reader to become more aware of their own unique design. I have personally gone through the process and it has helped me to know myself better, helped in evaluating job choices and volunteer opportunities, and moved me to greater level of satisfaction with the life choices I make daily. Bill is an excellent writer and the book flows in an understandable way. A must read for those who are searching vocationally, those who want to encourage their children, those who want to experience more satisfaction in life. I'm biased because I've been married to the author for the last 5 years, but I've seen time after time the great joy people experience when they can grab hold of the incredible satisfaction that comes from knowing more about their own unique giftedness and learning how to use it for good.

AMAZING READ!!! Hendricks is in league with Art Miller and Ralph Mattson in clarifying giftedness--and more!
Bill gives incredible insight into understanding and learning to use your God-given giftedness that makes you the totally unique YOU! He gives a scholarly presentation, written with wit, which draws you into really wanting to discover your giftedness, but more, connecting with how important that it, and how it enhances your life. Living out of your giftedness enriches your life, and every other life you touch, professionally and personally. I he had been around to espouse his easy-to-understand principles when I had young children--and even more when MY parents had your children! I wore my pen out underlining and taking notes in the margins!Get set for a book that you will delight in, which will also impact how you think about and use the rest of your life! I want to get it into the hands of sooooo many people I know!

The Missing Link to Understanding our Purpose
I met Bill Hendricks through the Giftedness Center process over ten years ago. Understanding my giftedness (and important areas where I lacked motivated ability) made a big difference in my life, both personally and professionally. I'm not certain I learned something new about myself. Rather, I learned that certain aspects of my giftedness for which I'd been shamed by others were really OK. I was given a context and purpose through the process that helped me accept and move closer do doing what God intended when He designed me.Even with this prior experience, "The Person Called You..." has provided a broader and deeper context in which I may apply my giftedness. My wife and I recently "reDeployed" (retired, but are redeploying our giftedness). Revisiting giftedness through this book reinforces and encourages the path on which I find myself. We have grandchildren to mentor and aging parents to care for. I am inspired to pay greater attention to who these much younger and older people truly are, and to celebrate and encourage their individual gifts in our relationships with them.

Engaging and Informative
As a Mom who is working hard at helping my daughter find her "dream job" when she graduates, I found this book to be my favorite of its' kind. First, the author, Bill Hendricks, approaches a person's giftings and talents with a Christian perspective. In addition, he has a unique approach to helping you discover what you truly love. What you're good at and what you love to do may be two different things. What you are gifted at is what you were born to do. While I read this to help my daughter, I became so intrigued that I'm reading it for myself as well. This book should be required reading for all high school students and maybe for adults who are in a job they hate.

Well worth the read
Through his own admission that it took 59 years to write his latest book, "The Person Called You", author Bill Hendricks attests to a lifetime of experience, full of both tragedy and victory, that speaks profoundly to the meaning and purpose of our human existence that each of us ultimately longs for. I find it near impossible to think of Bill's book apart from my own life narrative, further demonstrating his skill in getting one to delve deeper into making sense of true meaning of life questions, and surprisingly be able to come away with useful answers. Hardly to be classified as yet another feel good self help book to become more content with one's vocation, the understandings and insights I came away with from processing this book are remarkably useful even at my stage of life nearing retirement.

NOT about intellectual/neurodivergent giftedness
I found this author while looking for a (neurodivergent) giftedness coach online, and decided to try his book. Unfortunately, the giftedness he refers to is not that of the 5% of gifted people to which I belong, nor is it about dealing with the issues that causes. This is a book for anyone to find a different job. I stopped reading when I realized this just a few pages in, but am giving it 3 stars because Amazon insists on a rating, where I just wanted to warn others that this is NOT about intellectual giftedness.
