Q: will these work to hold down a gazebo canopy for extra support?

Should work just fine. I have them holding down my aluminum greenhouse. It survived 80 mph winds with no issues. The longer the length the sweeter the hold.

Q: Are these good for keeping my tent stable at the beach?

These are probably heavier duty than what I would use at the beach. They are also very HEAVY. Probably an overkill for the beach.
