Don't Judge This Book By Its Cover
First of all, this is a silly idea for a book filled with a wide variety of totally improbable incidents and wildly divergent characters (many, many of them). In addition, many of those characters are stereotypical--from gay men to Hollywood and reality TV types, to hot cowboys.Thirdly, he MCs are just so frustratingly ambivalent at times that you want to leap into the pages and smack both Walker Reed, the cowboy, and Roan Carmichael, one of the contestants (read the blurb), upside their heads. But, in the end this is a very special romance with a really explosive multi chapter love scene that puts it all right. The fact that you know what has to happen for Walker and Roan to get to a HEA is not only likely to be heartbreaking but also actually happens and turns out that way puts a kibosh on a lot of the silliness that comes before that.However.While I loved the way the book rolled and got to really like these two, the book's cover is extremely deceptive because while it shows Walker as you actually would imagine him to be, it depicts Roan as a slicked up character with a Roaring 20's speakeasy look that was totally and completely wrong and almost inappropriate. But I can recommend that you buy the book anyway.

The reality is: I didn't buy it
I never believed the chemistry between the two main characters. The whole reality show construct didn't ring true—error on my part: I avoid reality shows like the plague. I guess the cowboy aspect swayed me into reading the book. To be fair, there were some funny moments and nice romantic scenes—enough to keep me reading. But toward the end of the book I skipped through many of the pages just to say I'd cleaned my plate. I even see where readers who enjoy reality shows might relish this book. It had all the trappings of collusion, manipulation and a couple bratty loudmouths. If that's your jam, have at it! I personally regret the download.

Good and enjoyable
3.75 to 4⭐️ I can’t decideI found this one hard to rate, while I enjoyed it as a whole there were parts that I felt let it downI really enjoyed the first part of this one. I enjoyed the whole reality tv show setting.I don’t watch “The Batchelor” or “The farmer wants a wife” as I personally don’t believe in competing for your partners affection and time. Reading this one made me feel like this is what happens behind the scenes. From the producers machinations to the competitiveness of some of the contestants. But I also felt like it skipped around a bit during this time, and that we missed seeing Walker and his interactions with some of the others, especially Ben. The producers were annoying, especially Molly and Andy. Molly annoyed me from her first interaction. There are ways to do things without being mean. Andy redeemed himself slightly in the end.I like Roan and his honesty. He started for the money and then it changed bit by bit. But when the chips were down, and he needed to leave he did. His story arc after the competition was upsetting and I really felt for him.Walker’s family were a good buffer to the craziness that was the filming crew. I liked the parts where we saw him interacting with them and his crew on the farmI enjoyed Walker and Roan together, their interactions were well done. The sexy times didn’t really do much for me, and part of me felt it went a way it really didn’t need to.I wasn’t a fan of the way Ben’s storyline went and I hope the authors return and give him the HEA he deserves.

A Spectacular TV Courtship
Cowboy Seeks Husband is a delightful standalone romance that was filled with hijinks, shenanigans, tenderness, and above all: love. The plot setup was really interesting: two men desperate for money sign up for a reality dating show not expecting anything but money. Falling in love for real was not part of the script, but the connection between Walker and Roan was too strong to be confined by TV production rules. I found the reality TV portion really fascinating, especially how Walker and Roan had to be creative to escape the constrictions that have been placed on them. There was also some very emotional scenes that really touched my heart. This book has angst and sorrow, but the pain those scenes bring is soothed away by the sweet and tender romance between the two men. Absolutely loved the epilogue and wished it was longer and that there was a second or third epilogue – heck I would LOVE a sequel.John Solo narrated this audiobook and did a fantastic job as always. John’s voice was perfect for both Walker and Roan, and he made the steamy moments even sexier. I loved the performance and could hardly stop listening. Overall, the audiobook’s narration, storyline, and production was so well done that it was a joy to listen to.

Funny and heartbreaking
Reality tv in a romance book? I don't watch them, why read about it? This was the most fun I had reading about it. Walker owns a ranch he lives on with his parents and farm hands. He gets goated into participating on a tv show similar to 'the farmer wants a wife' but in a gay version of it. Enter the film crew and a dozen participants who try to get to his heart and the money prize. - I have never loved to loathe people as much as the producers of this show. I understand the guys who signed up for it and admired some of them for their honesty. But I seriously doubted that under all the pressure and constant surveillance there would be a chance to find love for any of them. The characters were well mixed, the main characters did mesh well and the most surprising thing was the funny banter. I have been laughing and crying. It's bittersweet in the end.

I enjoyed this Cowboy Book a lot!!
Cowboy's and a few hot men...who could ask for more. This was an enjoyable read for me! I felt that the characters were well developed and the story lines flowed together. There is some drama and angst, which always makes for a good read! This is my first book by these two Authors; I will be looking into seeing if they have collaborated on any others. If you like a good enjoyable read, then please don't miss "Cowboy Seeks Husband" you won't be disappointed; at least I hope not! An avid reader in Rock Tavern, NY.

Setting Not to My Taste
In retrospect, I shouldn't have read this book, as in real life, reality tv shows are not my thing - they're trashy, and so was this novel. As usual from the author/s, it was well written and in many respects, not bad, but I found the subject matter ridiculous. Why anyone would go on a show like this (other than to seek fame and fortune - shallow much?) is beyond me, but... we're all different. As for the MCs, Walker just seemed to be too good to be true and his insta-love for Roan didn't really ring true - after all, they hardly knew each other, yet they got their HEA. Undoubtedly it was the TV-esque formatting of the novel that failed to allow characterisation, but honestly, I cared little for either of them.Vespertine, a previous joint venture of these authors had depth & characterisation. To me, this had neither, nor the teeth-gritting-in-irritation at the religions thing that was the theme of Vespertine. By all means read it if reality TV is your thing, but it wasn't for me.

Good story, sexy, with great characters
I'm a big fan of Leta Blake, so I wasn't too worried I wouldn't like this. It's actually not the first reality-tv based romance I've read, but it is an unusual topic - I did feel that it realistically portrayed the overly-staged aspect of almost every interaction between the contestants. The sexy times were unbelievably hot - very well teased out, and I'm fussy about these things! - and there was genuine emotion and warmth in the characters. I did feel, though, that because of the format of the show they were filming, it made it hard to ramp up the sexual tension between Walker and Roan, and I would personally have liked a little more before they got together. Fab story, though, and great characters.

Cowboy seeks husband
This was a fabulous take on the bachelor type reality shows which sets out with cowboy Walker needing the cash for his ranch and adorable clumsy Roan wanting to pay his dying mothers medical bills

Meh
By comparison to the Heat of Love series and Vespertine, this is beige. She writes well and tells a good story, I just read some of her better stuff first. A light easy read. Although there is some sadness, there is no particular angst and while the whole reality series thing was tackled really well, there wasn't enough of something.... give it a shot if you want a light read, but know her other stuff (that I've read) is significantly more of everything.
