Very easy install
Incredibly good instructions. The video on the CAI website was also very helpful. There are two small issues. These apply for item 512-0106 (Silverado/Sierra 1500 2019+ 6.2L). First, box 24 of the instructions should read "Reroute MAF sensor wire under A/C hose and connect.", not "Reroute A/C wire under A/C hose and connect." Second, I had to cut a plastic wire tie to allow the MAF sensor wire to reach the MAF sensor on the new MAF/TUBE. This wasn't mentioned in the instructions or the video (even though I have the identical vehicle - 2021 LT Trail Boss) so it may vary by vehicle.I think there is slightly better throttle response with this unit although that may just be the placebo effect. As far as mileage is concerned I will have to wait a couple of thousand miles to know for sure. One thing I like about this unit (and others may not like) is that it is fairly quiet. There is a bit more growl when you punch it but it is not noticeably louder than the original unit. For normal driving I don't think there is any more noise than the original unit. I bought this to, hopefully, increase my mileage a bit, not to make my truck sound cooler. Obviously, there is nothing wrong with a bit more horsepower as well. I'll probably revisit this review in a couple of months when I have driven enough miles to really check the mileage.

Installed on 2019 Silverado 6.2 V8, losing MPG
Installed on a 2019 Silverado New body style with 6.2 V8. The intake is well made but does not include a gasket or seal to go between the new upper airbox and the factory lower airbox. I have noticed very little, to no noise from this intake. It was very easy to install but the wiring for the MAF sensor is tight after installed. Should probably include a pigtail to extend wiring or move the MAF closer to filter box. I have noticed a slight increase in throttle response. I have lost about 1 to 2 MPG with normal driving. Was getting 17 MPG on average, now only getting 15.5 to 16 MPG without changing my driving.

Easy for DIY install…looks awesome too UPDATED: 1 year and 10k miles after
I can’t comment on mileage change, I have had installed only five days, I have under 500 miles on the truck and I can’t keep my foot off the floorboard; the 6.2 is amazing, a real grin factory. What I can tell you is that this is an easy install for DIY. Watch a YouTube installation video and gather the needed basic hand tools and this should take about 20 to 30 minutes. I am 45+ female no previous mod experience, the kitchen step ladder and care was all it took for me to do by myself in the driveway. This intake utilizes the bottom portion of the factory intake box to keep things simple. Aluminum construction was nice feels durable and has great appearance. I like the filter check window as a convenience. Some people think an air intake makes the truck sound deeper and or louder, I didn’t notice a significant change, not on cold start or running. I did immediately notice a little up-kick in performance, felt like it really opened her up. I put this in the day before I had dealer install the Borla cat-back exhaust kit, that was where significant change to tone was achieved. I got the intake after reading GM description of the Borla exhaust upgrade and there was recommendation to pair with a cold air intake for maximum benefits of HP and MPG. GM did not have their official aftermarket cold air intake for the 6.2 liter engine available at time of purchase so I opted for the CAI due to reasonable cost, number of install videos available with favorable owner commentary, and overall appearance, both compared to other manufacturers and most certainly the original factory set up. Most difficult part of installation was disconnecting the factory hose clips, took more hand strength than I anticipated.Update: 10,000 miles later: gas mileage- the best I can do is 26 mpg highway at 70-75 mph with relatively even elevation. This is unloaded with no AC running, and as recommended by manufacturer, I always use premium fuel. I am also running with the Borla cat-back exhaust. I do have a retrax bed cover which also reduces drag from a tailgate. Driving in town I can avg 17-18 mpg. Towing a fully loaded camper with dry weight of 6000 lbs with four kayaks on the roof rack I am doing 15 mpg at 65 mph on relative even elevation. I did tow same set up at 85 mph up the Catskills and the mileage went to 10 to 12 mpg…but I don’t condone towing anything at 85 mph anyway much less up a mountain…this was done purely for “scientific research”. Those are my numbers for gas mileage with the CAI cold air system for you to compare to your base 6.2 liter mileage. I have cleaned and re-oiled the lifetime filter once at 10000 miles, even though I live on a dirt road the filter was surprisingly clean. Followed instructions, it is simple but there is downtime for drying, I plan to order a second filter to swap at cleaning times because I’m spontaneous and don’t like going 24 hours without access to my truck. Most difficult part of process is removing and refitting the filter to the tube/positioning in the box, I’m sure there is a better way to go about it than what I went through, there was swearing involved in the process, but I got it done. Still my favorite mod on the truck and wholeheartedly recommend. Right away you will feel how much better the truck “breathes”.Side note: the company is pretty cool, like in touch and personal, they are “car people” too, not just a mega-corp. I like to put stickers on the back window of my truck for my stuff, as though they are my (fake) racing sponsors, the original CAI sticker I had was peeling and ragged after a year of weather exposure and car washes, they sent me a bunch of new ones and some other bits of swag free and enthusiastically. It’s not about dollars and cents here, but it’s more fun to spend your money on products made by people who “get it” and are excited about your passion too.

A ratchet extension is very helpful.
Clean engine sound is mild but noticeable. I can't tell if there's more HP or milage but you can certainly assume it's a bit better than stock. Easy install.

Easy install and notice the throttle response
It’s a clean application as well as easy to install. Noticed it at the throttle pedal Money well spent

Easy installation
Installed this thinking I would maybe get a little more mpg out of the truck, but it actually went down. The truck sounds a little louder. The pvc hose does not fit right, so you have to bend it to make it fit. There is air gaps in the box where the hose comes out, which makes it less of a cold air intake then the OME. If you want your truck to be little louder buy this.
