Does a very good job on our mix breed dog. We have a dog with a very thick coat. He actually has two coats and outer coarse coat of hair and an under coat that feels like wool. Normal dog trimmers don't work. This cut right through with ease. I am afraid the electric trimmers would be risky and hard to control. Also, didn't want to spend a lot of money on electric trimmers these do the job well, our dog will be more comfortable this summer.

Worked great ONCE to get thousands of tiny pine cones out of an alpacas fur, left them on my porch and they rusted right away. Now they won't close or open properly, guess I'll try sanding off the rust and oiling them. Cheap price but waste of money. See 2 pics posted, one of each side.

Damaged tips, curled to the point it could not be opened without using a hammer to flatten it out... this is not what i woild call " heavy duty".

They work ok but spring tends to pop out from time to time. Hard to find once it launches itself.

These were my favorite go to shears. Perfect weight. Sharp. Not too tight a spring so the hand fatigue wasn't as bad as other shears. But the spring fell out a few months back. I tried glueing it back in. Didn't work. Spring flew off and I never found it.Not they are useless. Darn!

These shears worked great on my alpacas. (Sheared 2 today.) I'd bought a couple of pairs of shears (1 electric, 1 manual) already, and they left me very disappointed and frustrated. (Didn't cut well.) I was very relieved when these arrived that they actually cut. Now I can stop worrying about how late in the season it is getting and get this flock shorn.

These will cut pretty much anything. Be careful, tho, cuz the points are sharp! Wasn't paying enough attention and poked a hole in my arm, right to the artery. It stopped bleeding quickly but that was crazy. Got them for sheering sheep and they do work, but I think I'll invest in some electric clippers for that.

this was exactly as described. I was able to cut out the mat without any trouble. Matter of fact it cut so cleanly and without much handle pressure my cat didn't even move when I cut the mat out and it was a big mat about 4 inches
