Monroe Quick-Strut 172144 Suspension Strut and Coil Spring Assembly for Honda CR-V

They fit perfectly on my CRV with no issue. Didn't fix my problem though. Turned out my new sway bar link was loose under heavier load then I could replicate by hand. It took a large pry bar to find it. Oh well. These feel great

These went on my 2003 Honda CR-V. Installation was very easy. I would recommend to all the people who use crow bars ect.. to install these to instead leave the top bolts loose until you get the bottom bolts in, then you can tighten them all up. I did this and had zero issues.The ride is much improved and must have gained 3” of ground clearance over the worn stock units. The ride is excellent.Mine were marked made in the USA.

Unfortunately after just 3 years of installing new Monroe Quick Struts at each corner of my 2003 Honda CRV 3 of them have completely blown out. 2 of them leak oil and one of them has a spring that's starting to shed its lining. I do not live in the rust belt or a location that uses salt and I drive less then 8,000 miles a year. Adding insult to injury I cant claim a warranty because I purchased these through Amazon. The Monroe website said that to honor the supposed warranty they must be purchased through an authorized dealer and not online through a marketplace. Even if they did honor their warranty id have to pay to ship the struts myself which would cost a fortune. Also while the struts are in the mail and you are waiting you'll either not be able to drive your car or you have to just buy new struts anyway, in which case replacement struts are pointless. These struts are a JOKE! The warranty is a JOKE! This company is a JOKE! DONT BUY!

When I was told by my dealership that my front struts were worn and it would be $1200 to replace them, I decided to do a little research on replacing them myself. The dealership said any third party struts would cause more road noise than OEM struts. I have had these installed on my CR-V for a year and I can’t tell a difference between them and the original struts. Would buy again.

Installed 2 of these assemblies in about a hour and a half. There are some great vids on YouTube detailing how to do the repairs !

If you are having an issue installing the new struts - and it appears the strut is too tall (Specifically, the 2 big bolt holes in the steering knuckle will not line up to allow securing strut assembly to the steering knuckle.) The problem is the new struts are extended a bit due to the new spring tension- IF THIS YOUR ISSUE - YOU WILL PROBABLY NEED ANOTHER PERSON TO PRY DOWN ON CONTROL ARM TO GAIN CLEARANCE ( I had to use add an extension bar to get the leverage I needed). Viola! That is what I needed. (Other CRV owners have encountered this same problem as per Honda CRV Forums)

2006 crv, perfect. The description said monroe shock, i didn't see the name on the struts stamped,but quick struts. But wor grate.

GREATLY improved ride. Installed all four in under two hours. Needed to get an alignment on my 2005 CR-V, but money saved on parts and installation more than made up for that.
