I usually do not leave bad reviews, but the pot has rusted in less than a month. This is a cast iron tea kettle, it should not rust. I never leave water on the inside and always dry it out after use. There is no reason this should be rusting. I’m very upset about this as I love the the look of the pot, but it’s not lasting?!

It boils water on an induction cooktop faster than I could boil water in my microwave. I not only use it for tea making, but also for coffee and any other reason for using hot water, such as making ramen noodle soup. This tetsubin is very high quality and I suspect it will be around my kitchen for decades to come. I consider it a functional piece of art and it is never hidden away in a cabinet. It graces my cooktop on a permanent basis and often generates admiring comments from folks seeing it for the first time and sometimes far beyond. Like most tetsubins on Amazon, it very much has a rustic, handmade look to it and a texture most folks must touch. I highly recommend this item. The only chink in its armor is the cord that wraps around the handle, which loosens over time. If yours unravels, don’t worry, you can always remove it and the handle will still stay cool to the touch. In fact, most tetsubins on Amazon don’t even have this cord in the first place. Enjoy it for its aesthetics, enjoy it for its history, enjoy it for its functionality.
