Discovery World Furniture Full Bookcase Daybed with 6 Drawers Merlot

This was a perfect bed for my 13-year-old daughter. Her room is the smallest in the house but having this bed eliminated the need for a dresser with all of the storage it comes with, 6 drawers plus the door to put things under it, giving her more much needed space. Simple to put together and quality construction.

Bed is built solid. Made from pine, but solid pine, not press board. Does not come with the USB port like the pictures show. Kinda disappointed.

I purchased the twin bookcase bed with 6 drawers underneath. It arrived in four packages. Some of these are heavy! Fortunately, the delivery guys helped me carry them up to the second floor and into the room I was putting it in. Instructions are a bit vague, but I sorted pieces out ahead of time and compared parts to pictures to make sure I knew what went where. It comes with an allen wrench and a bit for a drill. I HIGHLY recommend using a drill; It will save time and your hands. Because it is solid wood, the bolts won't always go in as easily. This ensures a secure fit, but is killer on your hands if you're using the wrench.The bed essentially will be built in three pieces, and it disassembles to these three pieces for ease of moving later! A BIG plus for a college student like me who tends to move every year or so to take advantage of "student move-in specials" to keep rent costs low. Be sure to double check before installing anything, especially if using the wrench- taking the bolts out and putting them back in is just as difficult as it was putting them in the first time. (I finally gave in and bought an electric drill when putting the drawers together, my hands hurt so much.)Everything went together smoothly, until it came to putting the drawers under the bed. There were two boards on each end that needed to be removed, but the main support sits on top of them and is only held in the bracket by two tiny screws on each end. I'm not very big, but even at at 170 lbs, a bracket that goes UNDER this support would feel more secure, in my opinion. So I'm going to wait until I can get to a hardware store to buy something to add underneath before taking those braces out.TLDR: Great solid wood bed with one little design flaw. Power tool recommended, but not required. Overall a good purchase.//1.5 years later, bed is going strong. I did end up putting additional brackets *under* the center support that runs the length of the bed and even when there have been two people sitting on it or my 8 year old decide to clobber me, it still feels solid. Getting things in and out of storage is a little inconvenient, especially if you use larger totes. I used some wood screws to secure a few of the center slats, but let the ends loose. I just stand the mattress on its side and slide the boards aside when I swap out seasonal clothes and decor (usually timed to coincide with my quarterly mattress rotation).

We opted to paint it red and black, because my son really wanted gray and red walls, and the gray already on the walls clashed with the (beautiful!) gray on the bed. It took paint easily so that was a plus. No sanding. 😄As for building it just make sure you don't throw anything away, the boards for the bottom of the drawers are thin, and you might mistake them for packing material. 😉 Once they're assembled they are sturdy enough though.We re-did his entire room in a 3 day weekend, this bed can be assembled by 2 people in a few hours if you're handy and experienced with IKEA. If not, give yourself the day.Great purchase, happy with it and would buy again.

This thing is solid and practical. Loving the amount of storage this frame has. Plenty of space for socks, boxers, pants, shorts, workout rags, and more. Was hard to put together alone, I recommend a second pair of eyes.

The bed was exactly as I described. It’s solid wood and well crafted. Assembly was easy, instructions were clear and hardware was labeled well. I’m so happy with my purchase and for supporting a small business. When I contacted the seller to ask a question I received a quick response from a real person who was friendly and easy to work with, and who went out of his way to help me. Not all of the wooden parts are labeled which slows down installation. 2 drawer fronts were missing hardware to attach sides making them unable to assemble unless you improvise or go buy extra hardware.
