It works, but leaks water all of the time

I replaced the flapper valve with the OEM American Standard part twice, and both times I again had a slow drip into the bowl over time causing phantom flushing. It's a terrible design, and I'm sure wastes more water in the long run than any savings the OEM part supposedly provides. The NuFlush valve, on the other hand, is a much more intelligent design. I installed it very easily and right away it's obvious that the flush power is stronger and the mechanics of this valve I believe will last much longer. I was at first concerned that the tank to bowl bolts were plastic, but they actually seem to be holding very nicely, and perhaps won't corrode like the old metal ones do. So far, I am very pleased with this NuFlush valve and would encourage anyone with a Champion 4 to use this instead of the American Standard flush valve. BTW the instructions are not well written, but it's easy enough to figure out.

The American Standard Champion 4 has two serious problems. One is the phantom flushing where water leaks around the flush seal. This is happens after several years of the seal absorbing water. The other problem is poor flushing trying to use only 1.6 gallon (6 liter) which ends up requiring two flushes to be effective. This design was an unsuccessful attempt to meet a California government regulation caused by poor water supply planning.The NuFlush conversion has completely eliminated both of these problems that I had been fighting for years. It adds slightly more water and uses a demonstrated flap flush valve that works correctly.CAUTION - My American Standard tank 4266 CANNOT use the aftermarket tank-to-bowl 4 inch gasket. It was too thick and caused the tank to be loose. The original AS seal can be re-used between the tank and the bowl.I called the NuFlush supplier with excellent results. He answered all my questions in person about the gasket for my tank. Very pleased with this purchase.

This is the absolute repair for a bad toilet design. Total repair time about 15 minutes. Very easy and results are what I hoped for. The toilet flushes way better. So happy I found this part.

I bought this item to replace the constantly leaking, poor flushing, low volume Champion 4 cartridge system. I tried everything to make the factory system work property including replacing the flush lever with better quality after market parts. Something was always wrong - the chain would stick and cause constant filling, the cartridge would drop too quickly resulting in an incomplete flush, the cartridge would leak even if the chain had slack, etc. The worst thing was that my home has older plumbing - cast iron. The poor, low-volume flushes from the Champion system resulted in having to snake the drain about once a month. Since replacing with this item roughly 2 months ago I have not had a drain issue. Great flush power, great product, no leaks, fair price! Much easier and cheaper than replacing the entire toilet!

Easy install, fixed the problem of running toilet. Did not care for tank bolts rubber washers. The rubber makes the tank unsteady. The original ones were flat and allowed the tank to not move. New ones are rounded and allow tank to sort of float. They do seal just fine. All parts worked great.

I bought this because the low water level in the tank took more than one flush to entirely get rid of waste in the bowl. It is definitely better than the American Standard flush unit that was originally installed. But I still would like it to have more of a reservoir in the bowl. If you use a hanging toilet cleaner like Lysol, the water will still not reach it.

I did a little searching and found the product website with a number. Having questions I called, after hours fully expecting to get a message with the office hours. I got the owner - at home! That convinced me to purchase.It works. I don't know that I see that much of a difference in the flush with the additional water now available due to the design, but it seems logical that the lower valve provides more cleansing of the bowl. Installation went well - but play attention to the toilet bowl bolts (think their drawing is in error). Problem - leaking gasket that turned into a busted valve when I tried to replace - solved.
