Avalon Hill Axis and Allies Battle of The Bulge

This game is the bomb. It's so good I play it by myself. I collect Axis and Allies games and I must say this is probably my favorite (outside of the ultra-massive combined 1940 version). It doesn't take all weekend to play but still causes a lot of gear-grinding in the head, second-guessing strategies and counterpunching your opponent. I will say that the instructions could stand to be written a little clearer, as there are a couple of set-up conditions that are very easily missed. But if you're into wargaming AT ALL, pick this baby up.

Of all the AH Axis and Allies games this is by far the very worst. Die roll rules , re rolls, hits, and their relation to the strip cards are absurd , much too tedious and difficult to understand . You are constantly looking at the rules to see if you are doing everything correctly .Use of especially Trucks and transporting off the board pieces are also tedious and could be handled much better.There are simply to many steps and difficult things to remember for every turn for every space.The only positive are the details of the plastic pieces.I am a veteran war gamer and this is not an enjoyable game especially for beginners. They will be turned off. .Recommend any other AV Axis and Allies game . I have them all and they are all great and very , playable - this one is not.

The mechanics of this game are nothing like the other Axis and Allies games. The game replays the battle of the bulge and depending upon how the first turn or two goes can give a surprising amount of variation to the game. Combat mechanics are very interesting. There is a lot of die rolling but it isn't too bad. Very fun war game but it is geared more towards the war gamer than the casual any gamer type.

Rules are rather confusing, but the game is fun to play and the quality is good. We have at least 3 other Axis and Allies games and enjoy them all. This one is good if you want a shorter game time.

Having been a Avalon Hill gamer from way back, I was looking forward to this game. My son and I have really enjoyed Guadalcanal, but this game is a trudge. The whole game revolves around supply and moving trucks around. Boring. We gave up.

Thanks for the great game at a good price, my husband has been wanting this for a while. It came just in time for Christmas. My husband & boys had lots of holiday fun with it.

My husband and my brother are both big Axis & Allies fans and they both really enjoyed this.

this is a good production and the price are not so expancive. the shipped speed is fast than i manage.

Great game and decent alternative to the full Axis and Allies game.
