Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Adult Dry Dog Food with Healthy Grains, Lamb & Brown Rice Recipe, 4 Pound (Pack of 1)

My dog loves their vison and sweet potato food. We mix it with a lamb and rice food as well. Thought we would try out the Natural Balance Lamb and Rice for a change.

About a year ago I had switched my dog to the Acana Wild Atlantic dog food since my dog loves fish and I had heard great reviews of it.. After a few months on the food my dog developed a cough/choking disorder and also developed a filmy yellowish later inside her ears (she has never had any ear mites nor fleas or any ear disorder). Since the vet was closed other than emergencies for coronavirus I had to wait for an appointment since she didn’t appear to be in distress). I was shocked when the vet told me the cough/choke and ear condition was due to food allergies. The vet said older dogs normally do not develop food allergies and asked if I had switched her diet recently. (The diagnosis was after a thorough exam of labs/cultures and xrays).. I was shocked to discover that she had food allergies since I had changed brands of dog food almost annually throughout her life without a problem (she likes variety ha). In any event, my vet suggested a lamb and rice formula would be best for her and suggested a few brands to try. In less than a week on this food my dogs symptoms vanished. The price is also significantly less than Acana (almost 4x lower). I highly suggest this dog food!

This crazy pup loves it, and i've been feeding it to my other dogs for 13 years, no issues, consistent quality, would highly recommend. There are libraries worth of info about what food to feed dogs, yes in a perfect world I would make my dogs food from scratch each week with all the perfect ingredients but life is lifing and this gets the job done with good quality no filler food. Do the research, know what goes into your dogs food, then stick with it. The more you change dogs food up the more diet issues your puppers can have down the line (or so Google tells me). Hope this helps someone pick out food, but between this and Fromms i've read its basically the same where this is lower in fat than Fromms

Both of our dogs have been raised on the lamb and brown rice. They have never had any issues from eating this and have been very healthy from this. Our 13 year old dog still is playing, jumping, and rambunctious as if she was still a puppy. Only issue is that this product is that price has continually increased and is almost becoming unaffordable for dog food.

I have tried many different dog foods. I finally found this one with the single protein lamb. Not like many others that have beef stock chicken meal, etc. My white boxer is doing great on this food and not constantly butting and licking her paws

We are trying to get a more limited diet for our Mini Schnauzers. They are having foot chewing issues and foot odor like a frito. We read quite a bit about feeding chicken and the odor issue so we are changing to lamb. We had good luck with our previous dogs on lamb as well. The dogs seem happy with the new food once gobbles it up like always and the other needs a little TLC but we expected that.

Seldomly write reviews. We have a 3 1/2 year old Wheaten Terrier. Started on Fromm as per recommendation of breeder and eventually changed to Hills Science Diet (sensitive skin and stomach) approx 6 months ago. Wheatens have issues. We would always have to coax her to “eat”. Ran into a teenage female on Indian Mound Park in Pompano Beach, FL who info’d they had a Wheaten for 15 yrs and this was finally the food that was the cure all; another older male confirmed as well by coincidence. Tried this. Today is day 3. First day, did a blend. I know I should have progressed with a gradual, increasing blend but didn’t. Gave her full tilt this stuff yesterday and today. All I can tell you is that in 3 1/2 yrs, she has NEVER ‘asked’ for her food; however, today she did. She gobbled this stuff like it was going on the prohibition list as of tomorrow. It’s obviously still too early to ascertain if some issues will clear up. Two observations: a) she has not been continuously been licking her paws as she was; and b) she appears to look like she has a lot of spunk…this far at least. Again, this is a very preliminary review based on very early observations and should be read and processed accordingly. Regards, me

I like that there aren’t a million ingredients. My dog likes it.

I never noticed that this was a small 10 pound bag. DO NOT BUY. Go to your local store and buy the big bag for the same price.
