This is a great anvil to start blacksmithing on, it comes with a blue coating, though I partially removed this by sanding to achieve a more 'rustic' look.It's generally well cast, with some small imperfections on the base, the face edges can benefit from some light filing/sanding as they can be a bit jagged.When it arrived, the package was a bit damaged but what can you expect if it contains a big block of metal on the inside.It's come in useful for the metalworking projects I've done and will suit my needs for a few years to come, it's sturdy and has stood up to everything I've thrown at it so far.It's just light enough that it can be moved around but heavy and strong enough to be used for general blacksmithing.If you're looking for an anvil to start with, I don't think you can go wrong with this.

Nicely heavy. Good mounting tabs. Finish is a bit rough on the flat. Rest is painted nicely. I took a grinding stone to the flat area after removing the preservative. Did not take long to get a nice smooth finish, even with doing it by hand.
