Strong screw
When I was looking for a self tapping screws. The seller sites all said for wood, not intended for metal. They looked like any other self tapping screws I’ve used. I removed a section of floor from a boat. It was originally install with blind rivets. I decided to used screw to reinstall the floor for future access. These screws had the flat head I needed. If they won’t drill metal I can drill pilot holes. When I receive the screws they looked like they would drill metal. I used a 3/16” piece of steel. I used a lower speed because my thinking was when the threads reached the metal the screw might snap. As the picture shows it work just fine. I’m mounting wood to aluminum. Notice, I had the 3/16” steel mounted in a vice for safety.

Use Quality Torx Bits!!
I will say this much…do not use cheap torx bits. The torx indentation is somewhat shallow…plus being the material these screws are made from..cheap bits will not grab the screws well plus cheapo bits will strip out fast. After buying quality torxs bit these screws performed far better though you’ll still need to put pressure straight forward on the screw heads. The drill edges work..but not 100% reliable.Yes..I’d buy these again because of quantity…I needed a lot of these screws. And performance is acceptable when using quality torx bits as noted.

Self-Taps and Fits the Drill Bit
This screw fits a torx bit very well without flopping around and it pierced 1/8" steel without much trouble.

Cheap product
The torks head is not standard size T-20 is loose and T-25 too big difficult to drive straight. About 1/3 of the screw ends are defective and have flaws that make them difficult to run. Overall not very good. I used them but had to pre drill 16 gauge metal and fight the wobble.

Looks great butt……
Building a sliding barn door, framed with 1/8 thick 2x2 metal tubing I am using 1/4” plywood on the in side and using these screws. First thing pre drill your holes in 1/8” wall pipe I used a #21 drill bit think #20 would be better, still tight. And second buy a bunch or extra t20 bits they shear the heads off the bits really fast and easy. Never mind sending them in with out predrilling. But becides that they look and work amazing. They really hold strong and have not snapped a screw yet……….. but can not say the same for the bits
