Great battery extender
Battery use and charging the phone:I have been using this battery case for about a week now. It has been way more than I expected. I am a fairly heavy user. I have my phone rooted with overclocked cpu and gpu and with a custom kernel to enable double tap to wake. That said the stock battery would only last me 4 hours before I had to plug in ( I have a charger everywhere ). With this battery case I dont need them. It makes the phone last all day for me. I do about 2-2.5 hours of netflix (kids) and about an hour worth of youtube, some light gaming and a lot of web surfing. Once my phone reaches the 15% mark I turn on the battery by pressing the button on the back and holding it for about a second. Depending on whether Im using it while charging it or not it will charge my phone back to 75% or 100% in about an hour or 2. Then i can drain the battery all over again.Charging the case and phone:The pass through charging means I DO NOT have to remove the phone from the case in order to charge it. I just plug it in at night like normal and it will charge the phone and the case at the same time.P.S. if you are a light sleeper and light bothers you be advised the small LED lights that indicate the batter on the case will blink while charging and are a bit bright. No brighter then maybe a night clock but the blinking can be annoying. I just throw a sock over it to black out the light and all is well.Protection:The case goes on very, very, sturdy. As irony would have it, i dropped the phone from my lap while sitting down on to hard tile floor with the case on and all that happened was the case separated very slightly on one corner, it was still on the phone and intact just one clip popped out, I snapped it back together and all is well. So its tough enough to protect the phone as well. The case also lift just slightly over the screen so if you place the phone face down it will NOT rest on the screen (although I STILL recommend getting a screen protector, [ I have the invisible-shield HD and it did not lift or mess the shield up. it just fit perfectly])B.T.W. If you have not installed a screen protector yet, do your self a favor and install it before the case or getting the case off is going to be a PITA. and you could break a locking tab.Build Quality:The feel of the case resembles the original texture of the Nexus 5 originally so its doesnt feel like it would slid out of your hands. there is good grip while using the phone. The buttons are lifted enough to feel for them with out having to look, they also press very easily and there is a textual and audible click when pressing them.. The charge port is very snug and sturdy, so far. Depending on what type of headphone connector your headphone have they may not work since the case lift about and 1/8 of an inch over the phone the L shaped plugs could have trouble connecting properly.Size and weight:This is obvious. Yes it makes the phone bigger and heavier. That said, its not by much. As far as width the case only adds about half of the phones original width, so lay your phone on the table and add about half of the phone to it and there it is. Its noticeable but not annoying. In length to the top its like i said earlier about 1/8 of an inch, to the sides its no different than any other case, and to the bottom it adds the same amount that the phone has as a bottom bezel, so double the bezel at the bottom and you got it. It takes a bit to get used to but not cumbersome.Final though:So far after about a week of use it is worth to me more than what i paid for it. Definitely a great product. It protects the phone well and does its job perfectly- charge my phone and extend the life away from a wall charger! I can unplug my phone from the wall at 730 am run the battery till about 12pm turn on the charger, by 2pm its at about 85% then run the battery again till 8-10 pm. My day lightens up in use as it gets later.i have added some screenshots of a typical days use on my phone.

Premium price, cheap build and service. Not recommended.
So let me start of by saying, when it works, it works. If life where only that easy. I have had two separate case, both failed after a three month period of time. The first one stopped charging after a few months, and the second had the plastic power button break off, leaving the phone unable to be woken up after it goes to sleep. Now on to how it was to use. First off, it makes the phone about twice as heavy, but with that comes whole day use without worrying about charging. Takes the stock charger between 8-10 hours to charge both the phone and case when not in use. If you have a Nexus tablet charger it would take about 4-6 hours to charge the case and battery together. Now on to the reason for the low rating. Failure is part of life, however its how you handle that failure that makes the difference. For the case I feel like its a two star case, for the whole experience, I have to rate it a 1. The case deserves a two star rating as I deduct a star for each issue. The first two are that the case ultimately failed, twice. The last if due to the quality while in use. The reason for the deduction for quality, is the case has a nice soft touch rubber coating, that seems to add quality, however after about a month of use it began to flake off and or wear off. I'm not really hard on equipment, so imagine my surprise when that happens, on both cases. So finally what lowered this to its lonely one star. Its not Amazon, but the merchant who sold it. I think that after two separate failures, its reasonable to want to cash out and buy a different product. Since they have a year warranty, I would have thought this would have been an easy process. It was till I saw they charged me a 15 dollar restocking charge, for a defective product. If I had asked to return it for the sake of dislike, I would be understanding of the charge. But on a failure of the product, really? I feel like anytime a product fails me, and so does the seller, I will make sure to avoid them in the future along with everyone I know.
