I got these to use in a recipe from my Swedish sister in law, although they may seem expensive you only need a few to get the flavour and texture needed. They will keep a long time in an airtight container.

Wanted to make an authentic Swedish dish and these did the job. Hydrates well and versatile, a little goes a long way.

Good natural product for hard to get arctic berries

Expensive - no doubt due to the careful processing involved - but needs must to get the best form of lingonberry available if one lives far from the bushes on which they grow!

These make a refreshing change from other dried berries such as cranberries and blueberries. They can’t really be compared with those, however, since there’s no added sugar and they’re freeze dried – wonderful. Don’t be fooled by the low weight – you get a big pack. They’re a bit like Rice Crispies in that sense. The resealable bag is welcome. They’re packed with fat-free goodness but are very tart. I quite enjoy sucking a lemon or lime but wouldn’t want to snack on these. They’re lovely, however, with other ingredients, making a perfect contrast in taste and texture. I’ve used them in muffins and plan to try them in place of cranberries in a berry loaf I make. We’ll also add them to porridge and home-made muesli. I’d expect them to be expensive. They’re tiny berries and must be very time-consuming to collect from the wild. £18.90 really is quite a lot although, for once, they’re cheaper on amazon.co.uk than amazon.com. Bargain! Whether we’ll buy more, I’m not sure. I’d suggest buying one pack and giving them a try. You’ll very likely want more.

These freeze dried berries are on the surface very expensive, but I find the quantity and quality do warrant the cost. I’ve purchased local freeze dried berries and fruit (costlier & inferior to these) but Lingonberries are not easily accessible. I first read up on the nutritional information of Lingonberries and felt their health benefits were worth trying the product. I was very impressed with the condition of the small, slightly tart berries. They were flavourful whole berries, with only a small amount of powder at the bottom of the bag. Not only do I benefit from these healthy berries, but I try and sneak in nutritious elements to my pup’s diet, so I crush a few berries in his yogurt. Golden Retriever’s are prone to cancer, so I try to provide good nutritional support. Being disabled with limited mobility prevents me from accessing and preparing fresh homemade meals, so I look for little powerhouse products like these Lingonberries. A small amount goes a long way health wise and this company appears to make an effort in sourcing and cultivating clean nutrient rich products. I ordered more of these and other berries from this brand, and was very satisfied with the flavour of them all. I keep an eye on the Amazon listing because they do go on sale.
