Does this work on take and play please?

No it only works on trackmaster, super station or super cruiser takes both take and play and trackmaster

Can this train be used as a push along one on a flat surface without the track. Thank you

My son pushes it along the floor and still works on the track too. Not sure it is meant too but he is 3 so he just goes with it. Hope that helps.

Will it run on any wooden track

It is designed for the plastic trackmaster. My son has had them on a wooden track too and they sometimes get stuck or fall off. Sometimes they work fine. Depends on what you have I guess.
