Midwest Hearth Vermiculite Granules for Gas Logs - 12 oz Bag

These crystals add a natural, burning ember-like quality to my gas fireplace. The "embers" seem to burn (for a while) even after turning off the flame. Great product; you'll enjoy the warm, natural look these crystals provide.

Just what I needed

It works as expected and looks very realistic with rock wool and lava rock with a natural gas fireplace with gas logs.

Great quality and realism

I use this on top of the heavy duty foil under the gas elements to catch the drips from grilling. Works great, easier to use than sand or? Easily changes out 1-2 times a year. Wrap up in the foil and discard !

This vermiculite I received is what you see in the picture under the logs in the fire pan (very fine grain vermiculite, not coarse as advertised). The vermiculite you see outside the box at the outer sides is true coarse vermiculite, that I bought two years ago, another brand out of business. Three star passing grade, because it does function enough to displace the propane flame to avoid the backyard propane burner effect. Two stars off for advertising it’s coarse, when it is not and therefore not as appealing.

Arrived overnight. Using to replace old vermiculite. Looks great. Even my old logs look better. Laid vermiculite on the bottom. Covered with the steel wool looking stuff. Size of bag was perfect.

Quality

Produit indispensable dans un insert fonctionnant au gaz. La vermiculite convient bien. Il serait judicieux de livrer ce produit dans un étui rigide afin d'éviter son écrasement lors du transport.
