If you don't mind wearing reading glasses, these half specs may work well for you. After recent cataract surgery I have found myself being able to see very well at a distance but still needing help seeing up close. I have tried multiple pairs of readers and seem to have settled on these. Pro's; they are reasonably comfortable to wear, sit mostly in one position on my face, unimpeded distance vision, very good value and appear to be pretty rugged. Con's; they are not the most fashionable. Of course that is a matter of opinion. If like me you appreciate practicality and a product that works for good value, these might work for you. I did adjust the ear pieces and nose pads to fit, which I guess is another pro. They are easily adjustable. What do you have to lose? Ten bucks I guess.

Compact and well made. Excellent if you need to use for reading , etc but also have to see far at the same time. The half lense is invaluable

These are just what we were looking for and they were super cheap. However, the plastic nose pads are SO STINKY I was worried we had a skunk in the attic! Honestly, I walked around trying to find the smell and I can’t believe it came from these glasses but, it IS the glasses. We’ve left them outdoors for the day. Hopefully they’ll be less offensive in a day or two. Don’t worry, we’re mindful of any possible fire ignition by the sun. Other than that they’re super practical for us. Sure we’ve just aged ourselves by at least ten years (spouse and I) with this particular style but we look super cute doing it 😉

Following cataract surgery readers were needed. The ones from the discount store did not last a week so I knew I needed a better option. After an extended search and reading of reviews, I settled on these. They arrived well packaged with both pair safely contained in a substantial box. The first thing I noticed out of the box was how delicate and light they were but in a good way. When I opened the arms, they were sturdy and expanded without making noise, did not require undue pressure, and stopped when the maximum expansion was reached. The wire arms are thin but sturdy, stay fixed on the ear, and contain the lens so that it does not wobble or move in any direction; the ends are encased in a plastic sheath which is quite comfortable and adheres to the head without any painful pressure or rubbing. The spring hinge works well. The nose pieces cradle the sides of the nose without pain, redness, or irritation while the wire bridge rests easily on the top of the nose . The lenses are plastic, but there is no opacity, film, or dullness. The size of the lens makes it easy to look over. There are 10 diopters offered depending on availability and color chosen. I chose the red/purple combination that indeed are true to color but in a faint manner not glaringly bright. They also come with a case (which is thin and not substantial enough to be protective from pressure), a cleaning cloth, and a glasses chain. Because of the construction these frames are delicate and may require a bit of gentleness in their usage. They are ok just a matter of fit to shape of face issue. I am Asian and small nose bridge. It's difficult to find a perfectly fit pair here in America. These glasses tho are nice and strong (not flimsy at all) and will work very well when I am at work sitting up or walking.

Exactly what I wanted. They are small, lightweight and I can read.

The fit is ok, thankfully it is a flexible metal so even though the width is too small for my face they flex to fit.However the plastic lens is of mid quality. Yes, I can see better up close (I wear these over contacts for distance) but there is a slight hazy quality to the vision. Colors aren't as vivid as when I have just my contacts on. I guess that's the trade-off. I think it's the fact there is no anti-glare coating on the lenses. You get what you pay for I suppose

I've been very happy with these half moon readers. I've resigned myself to the fact that I need assistance when reading close-up. I can see easily over the tops when I need far vision and just look down when I need some magnification. I wear them with the black elastic "chain" that comes with them and find that convenient. I just ordered another set of 3 because I like to keep them in various places around the house as I don't always have a pair hanging on my "chain". I had ordered another set from a different manufacturer but I returned those.
