Great (and so far) reliable heating
I've had a few electric blankets and one other heated mattress pad. My prior heated mattress pad was nothing but an annoyance. If I accidentally put my foot anywhere near the plug (which was easy to do since it was almost 5 or 6 inches up from the very foot of the bed) the controller would error out, requiring you to unplug it and plug it back in to reset the error. Sometimes it would error all on its own (or possibly my cat jumped on it). Also, it didn't heat the bottom part of the bed at all where the feet are which really is the worst part for me because by the time I get in bed, my feet are cold.Thankfully that is NOT the case with this heated mattress pad. The heat goes pretty much edge to edge (left/right), and from the very bottom of the bed, right up to about the upper chest/shoulders area. Yes the plug is technically up where you can kick it, but it's at the very end of the bed (not 5 inches up like on my previous well known brand) and more toward the corner. It doesn't bother me nearly as much as my previous mattress pad. Also, so far, the mattress pad just works, ALL NIGHT. I haven't yet had it error on me once where as my previous one I had to practically make an effort to avoid kicking the plug all night long. Granted I haven't had to wash it yet, but I can't use that excuse with my previous one as it error from day one.My only real issues with it are the fit, and it doesn't have a preheat function. Yes, I measured my bed to make sure I was getting the right fit. The fit issue is kind of a two part problem. The elastic fabric part that is used to wrap around the mattress isn't quite big enough to really get a firm grip on my mattress. Also, the mattress pad itself is kinda slick on the mattress so if you toss/turn through the night you could eventually start to loosen the pad and it'll kind of bunch up a little under the fitted sheet. As for the preheat function (which the directions says it turns on at a higher heat than the set heat, but I don't notice it), it's not a deal breaker but it was a really nice feature I got very used to with my previous mattress pad (when it didn't error out while pre-heating). It was nice being able to set the pre-heat on 10 or so minutes prior to getting into bed and having a very toasty warm bed to get in which will either automatically drop back down to your previous setting, or you can hit the up/down buttons and it would return to your previous setting. As mentioned earlier, the directions mention something about not having to turn it on at a higher setting as it will actually warm the mattress pad at a higher setting prior to going back down. I haven't really noticed this. I tried it while getting ready for bed once and if it was doing it, it wasn't very noticeable. Also some have mentioned the controls being difficult to manage in the middle of the night since you need to press a button for anything to light up. Personally I prefer that. My previous one was ALWAYS lit in some way. The power button was always lit even when it wasn't on, and when it was on the Down was a bright blue and the up was a bright red and was horribly bright. Who ever thought having a bright blue light shining in your eyes (or cast all over your entire bedroom) at night was a brilliant idea must have either never used the product or can sleep through anything.I've only had it for about 2-3 weeks so I'll update this if anything comes up.

The number is for those people that throw away the directions without taking down the number for the company. I have fibromyalgia and arthritis and hurt constantly. The only thing that helps is heat so when winter came last year I was looking for electric blankets for the bed but decided to go with a mattress pad for the difference in how the heat is dispersed. Over the past two years I have bought two cheap Sunbeams thinking they're all the same. Wrong. Sometimes you do really get what you pay for. Both of the Sunbeams controllers went out, one within a year and the 2nd one was only a couple of months. I'm still trying to get in touch with them to see if they'll send me new controllers. In the meantime, I really needed that heat in the cold weather so came looking for mattress pads again. I've only had this one a week and I'm loving it so far. However, one of the controllers didn't work. I've just gotten off the phone with the company and talked to a nice man named Dan who is sending out a new controller tomorrow. I believe he is one of or the owner of the company. He apologized profusely and told me to make sure to call them back if I had any more problems. They also do after warranty repairs if you need them.I followed their instructions or suggestions on here and ordered a cheap cotton mattress pad to put over the elec. one. With Fibro I feel every single little thing close to my skin and the extra mattress pad took care of that problem. I was always restless at night trying to find a spot for my shoulders on the Sunbeams where I wasn't laying on those wires. Granted if I had thought it was safe I probably would have done the 2nd pad with the Sunbeams but that still wouldn't have fixed the problem of the controllers going out. This mattress pad had such good reviews I decided to spend the extra money to see if there would be a difference between this and SB. So far, I'm loving this pad a whole hell of a lot compared to the SB. The heat is evenly dispersed and I love that part at the top that has no heat more than I thought I would.Since I've only had this a week, I'm going to give it more time and see how it does. I love the fact it is made in the US, it's a nice thick pad and I have no problem with seeing the controllers or changing them. The cords are nice and long, even the one from the controller to the electric outlet. If something happens I'll come back and edit this. But right now I'm going to say you can buy with confidence.
