Better than you would think- from a quality company
Very nice construction, nice sweet tone, but somewhat quiet. May improve with age, being a solid top. Best deal I have found on amazon- I have 5 other ukuleles. Includes quality extras including best Carry case I have seen in a kit.

Very nice, but by no means perfect.
I like it very much, but spent a good one to two hours sorting out the bugaboos. At first, I didn't know what to think of the finish...The wood is open pore, but has a gloss finish applied. This makes the open pores very obvious, but then I soon realized that finished as is, it's less susceptible to fingerprinting. A good thing!I don't know if they really intended to achieve this result, or simply didn't want to apply a filler to give it a glassy smooth finish. That would add considerably to the labor cost involved in producing this instrument. Are they cutting corners or simply stumbled onto something good?Regardless, I have come to like it.Some don't like it, but the design on the fretboard which sort of resembles Diablo from the video game series is rather cool. I like it!The rosette with abalone looks rather nice also.Worried about fret markers?Don't.There is a full set on the side. They could improve a little bit on the tuning machines but they are quite adequate. They're not very smooth, but stay in tune.I haven't done anything about it yet, but I think loosening the gears and retightening while rotating them might help. They might be off center a tiny bit causing an elliptical orbit of the main gear against the worm gear. The steps involved in bringing this ukulele up to snuff were smoothing out all the frets which were quite jagged.I also had to reglue the nut which came loose when I loosened the strings to gain better access to the fretboard. The fretboard was dry and chalky looking.I had to clean it.I then then applied a tongue oil polymer mix and buffed it a few times to give it a much richer appearance and keep it clean for years to come.It came to me just slightly undertuned which would suggest that somebody had purchased it before I did.Usually these instruments come with very slack strings.I don't know what brand the strings are, but they are flourocarbon which iworks for me. Many ukulele players prefer fluorocarbon.I must say the gig bag is one of the finest I've ever seen! It's very well padded and actually comes with a padded neck support! The zippered pocket is quite large and runs the whole length of the case you can put many items in there without crowding. It's great! The stitching and the handle are also very nicely done. The zipper is excellent. The electronic tuner is also one of the best I've seen.It actually has notations on it to depict whether you're tuning guitar bass, ukulele and such. Most just have different keys noted across the bottom of the screen.I don't need that, but It's very user friendly especially for new players. It's the first one like this that I've seen. It did not come with a battery The strap is a $2 strap, adequate but cheap. It's a Soundhole hook strap. There are no strap buttons on the ukulele. Some have complained that this ukulele does not have good intonation. The one I received is actually the first ukulele that I bought online that did have proper intonation!Perfect intonation. That's a first! What a deal!Although this is very rare, It means I don't have to adjust the saddle which can be very time-consuming.Yay!Your experience may vary.Usually factories don't do a setup. They leave that up to the shop that receives the ukulele for resale. How does it sound?Very good tone for its price point, better than some costing much more. The tonal properties can vary greatly with different strings.Although the strings are adequate,I would say that something like Aquila Sugars would improve it greatly.I prefer low G tuning myself, but I bought this for resale.Someone will end up with a pretty sweet uke after I've tweaked it.Who knows I might break down and keep it for myself!I can't keep everyone that I bring in.I need a pole barn to store them in.Would I recommend this ukulele? If you're experienced with setting up ukuleles, filing frets, and dressing them up a little bit,I'd say definitely yes!As someone with experience in this area, I am very pleased with my purchase at the price point of under $70.More than that?I'd say no.

I šÆ % LOVE this Ukulele!
I come from a family of Musicians, so I grew up with Ukuleles and Guitars, and Organs and Pianos, and a whole bunch of Singers. š I sang and often accompanied my singing with my playing Acoustic Guitar and Ukulele when I was little, and I still sing and play Ukulele to this day! So, I was super excited to receive LingTingās ā23 Inch Ukulele Top Solid Koa Concert Ukulele Professional Beginner Kit with Accessories Ukulele Bag Tuner Capo Strap and Inlay Decoration,ā as this is the biggest and one of the very best Ukulele Iāve seen and owned to date!I was accustomed to playing the 21 inch Uke, and playing the 23 inch for the first time was such a game changer and fun experience for me as I couldnāt believe how so much easier it is to play and hold the strings because of the slightly longer neck and slightly larger body of the Uke, giving your left arms and left hand (if youāre right handed, that is) plenty of space to reach out and play the chords, compared to the smaller size, 21 inch Uke. I was also very surprised at how incredible the sound quality is of this Uke by LingTing as it is wholesome and loud, producing beautiful melodies that anyoneās ears would love to hear. The design is also pretty lovely and stylish with the addition of Abalone on the sound hole. Not bad for a āMade in Chinaā Ukulele, which sounds and performs better than my Hawaiian-made Ukulele. No offense intended.Overall, I am really happy with the quality of this Ukulele and how well it performs that I am looking forward to learning how to play new and/or other songs using this Uke for many years to come. I most certainly recommend this Uke by Ling Ting to others as this isnāt only solid and built to last with proper care, but this is also very affordable for such a fine quality Ukulele. Thank you! ā„ļø

Review from a total beginner
I am a total beginner and have never touched a ukelele in my life, which hopefully provides some perspective for my review. I think this is a great kit for a beginner, I definitely don't have any of the accessories and wouldn't even know what I would need, so it was very nice it included so many of them! I appreciate the little book which includes some history as well as some basics... however if you take a look at my photos, it is kind of gibberish, literally doesn't really make any sense at all. I feel like they just used google translate from a different language and called it a day. The case looks and feels fairly nice and though wouldn't protect the ukelele from really crazy bumps, will definitely protect somewhat during travel. Ukelele looks very nice and while it probably wouldn't pass as a high end instrument, definitely does not look cheap to me. Once tuned, it sounds quite ukelele-ish to me too (again, I am a total beginner, sorry haha). In my opinion, this makes a great affordable starter kit for someone who wants to learn but I would either purchase a separate learning booklet or look up guides on youtube.
