Great computer and value.
This computer has been awesome after updating the BIOS to the latest version. It runs cooler and more consistent as well. I was having problems before but after the update it's been great.

It is as hot as the sun
It gets so hot it shuts off. I had it on my lap and it caused second degree burns on my legs. I called Dell support and was on hold for an hour so I just hung up and returned this computer. I really think Dell has gone downhill.

The specs are hot the product is not
Influencers love this model. But I question their motives for its praise. I suggest anyone considering the 2020 Dell G5 5500 or 5505 SE models (issues seem to apply to both Intel and AMD variants, but even more issues with the AMD variant) go to the Dell Community forums and read about all the problems users are having... Dell makes great laptops and sometimes they really miss the mark. The G series itself is hit and miss and the latest 55xx series lineup is certainly a misfire. Make your own decision, but I strongly suggest paying a little more and getting a different brand product.

Not the best
Good specs for the price but the laptop itself is poorly put together. The screen that comes with this laptop is extremely flimsy. God help you if you accidentally tap it. It will crack if a needle drops on it. My screen has been cracked twice from minor taps. Have never seen a laptop screen break so easily.
