The sound clarity and reception of this unit is better than other portable brands that I've owned. It's also rugged and well balanced, easy to carry. You can actually expect the radio to run for days on a 20V battery single charge. I usually use a 4 or 5 amp battery. The unit worked so well that I bought a second unit for my garage. Great value for the money.

I'm a contractor who owns more DeWalt cordless tools than I can count so batteries for this aren't an issue. That said, I did not purchase this to use as a job site radio. For that my preference is a phone holster on my tool belt suspenders to play or stream content quietly enough that I can hear but it doesn't bother others. So this purchase was to simplify my current campfire sound system which is corded, heavy, and bulky, as we use it both at our front yard fire pit and at wilderness campsites. The system I refer to is a Bose Acoustic Wave mounted atop a Yamaha subwoofer, which sets a very high bar when it comes to sound quality, clarity and volume. With this DeWalt box costing roughly 10% of what that system does I believe it would be unfair to compare the two, but that's what I was accustomed to before purchasing this.I am impressed. Other's complaints about it not having a charge feature or remote control or other bells and whistles don't enter into it for me. This satisfies my priorities for portability, quick and easy BT pairing with an amazing range, an Aux input for patching in a TV and it has clear, crisp audio. It's also built like a tank so it'll take some abuse. For my purposes the radio will rarely be used. Streaming content through my phone (SeriusXM) or playing the thousands of song files on its storage card is what I'm using it for. While I'm accustomed to more volume and depth of sound this unit's output is clean, crisp, clear and satisfying. And for those who haven't figured it out, to control the volume with your phone, once paired turn the radio's volume up to max then use your phone's volume control to adjust it up or down. There's your remote. Once set up this way, if you have a smart watch you can even use that as a remote for play, pause, forward, back and volume. This unit will go a long way toward minimizing and simplifying our entertainment setup whether in the front yard or out in the sticks. Good job DeWalt!

This radio is everything you think it should be. Attractive, durable, Great Sound and easy to use. We are enjoying it so far!

Had this for one year. No issues so far. I use this in all sorts of environments, extreme heat, extreme cold, humid, dusty, etc. I guy might have even dropped it. It just keeps on working. Bluetooth works great; the USB port is really nice for charging my phone. It has a good sound. I wish the next model has a built-in way to charge the Dewalt batteries.
