SwellPRO Spry+ Plus Waterproof Drone Fly More Fisherman Bundle

There a learning curve as with any drone. Use is for fishing, getting bait and lures way out from shore. Opens up areas of fishing that you could never cast too. Registered the drone $5 and took the test. Did test in the water, no problems. Bought the 3 year insurance plan seeing how this spry model is out of production. Probably should buy spare parts. My first drone purchase, seems pretty durable so far. Used airbrush lubricant on the battery compartment seal, which seems to help. Came with two batteries, I’ll will purchase another one maybe two to extend my fishing time. Bought extra batteries off Amazon. Also bought a new nose lens, tri-props and membranes from swell pro. Need to practice flying it a lot more before I hurt myself. 😆 Adding to this review. This one tough drone. To bad they are not in production anymore.

First of all, shipping was unbelievably fast. I wasn't expecting it for almost a month. It was left on my porch in 2-3 DAYS after order. I thought it was somthing else, and put it away. I contacted the seller to find out where my drone was, when it didn't arrive in the "due window". I already had it for weeks, and didn't know it.Experience so far: the drone is awesome. Very stable in hover, and flight. Display is clear, and visible in the Florida sun. The 20 min. Flight time on battery #1 was 100% positive. I'm very pleased with the characteristics of this drone. During battery #2's flight however, a gremlin must have gotten on board. 7- 8 minutes of normal flight, memorizing the controls, etc. the drone went vertical at it's top speed aginst my commands. After 4-5 seconds, It started to respond to my commands again, but was still "trying to escape" it was like another operator was fighting me. I put the drone into return home mode, and it began a series of "dog fight" maneuvers, and went into an upside down flight directly into the ground where in continued to function like a lawn mower until powered it down manually, avoiding the rotors. Thing has more power than you would expect. I sat it down, and inspected it. No significant damage to the rotors, or camera lens. But then I noticed one of the rotor limbs had cracked, (side and top). So two things from this.1. WTF2. Probably not waterproof if it still works. I'm not going attempt another flight as is, because I might not be able to recover it, if it tries for another space flight.. Lens protector was removed during flight.. I was connected to 18 satellites during my flights.. Flight was conducted in a large parking lot.I'll update this review after my communication with the seller, and or manufacturer. One star for now, because $1000.00 for 30 minutes of flight is pretty steep. Thanks for reading, I'm not giving up on it yet. I really like everything, excluding the glitching.Update: 4-03-2021I'm in possession of a replacement drone. It cost me aprox. $250.00 for the repairs. Dominion drone waved their $100.00 service fee. They seem to be a legitimate company. Communication is a little slow, but they do respond. Dominion said they put in a warranty claim to swellpro on my behalf. I've yet ro receive any communication, or update re: this claim.I will update.

I live in Washington State and it rains a lot here so I can't fly my other drones. The battery life is ok and the picture quality ok for me as well, thanks.

One of the 2 batteries that came with my Spry+ is defective. To get a replacement I am forced to send back the entire drone's bundle, not just the battery. I have used the drone so there is good chance Amazon will discount my refund more than the battery is worth. So I will just have to eat the cost of a new battery. The drone it's self is very good for drone fishing.

Did really like it because doesn’t get good frequency on video and battery life to short

I bought the SwellPro Spry Plus on December 31, 2020. I took the time to really get know the functionality of the drone and the flight controls. I will admit, for beginners, this drone is amazing. The SwellPro Spry Plus almost flies itself and it is a great drone to learn how to fly a drone if you are a first time drone pilot. Fast forward to May 1, 2021. I took my SwellPro Spry Plus with me to a fishing derby. I worked well as the Follow Me mode functioned perfectly and I filmed as we were reeling in and netting fish. Being advertised as a waterproof drone, I landed it in the water a few times, as that was the best way to retrieve the drone with a net. When I opened the battery compartment I noticed water was inside the drone. I was taken a bit back because I always assured the battery compartment cover was always on tight. I took a lint free cloth and did my best to remove the water from the battery compartment. The next day I noticed the camera lens cover was condensated and there was no picture being received from the camera and the RF motor light was no longer functioning. I am also not able to Gyro Calibrate this SwellPro Spry Plus. The exchange time has passed and now I am out $1,200.00 for purchasing a waterproof drone that is not waterproof. I am beyond disappointed because just over 5 months after purchasing the SwellPro Spry Plus for $1,200.00, and using it for the purpose it was advertised for, I now have a bright orange paperweight with propellers.

Have not been able to fully test the underwater and waterborne features of this unit yet but am confident it will perform just as well as it has over dry land to this point.
