GREAT PRODUCT - WORKS AS ADVERTISED - PROZOR 192KHz DAC Converter with Remote
Review is for PROZOR 192KHz DAC Converter Toslink Coaxial SPDIF Optical Input RCA 3.5mm Output with Volume Adjustable Remote Control - as most TVs today, the TV does not offer RCA output or 3.5mm output for computer speakers - the DAC converts digital (optical) to analog (RCA and 3.5mm) output so you can use on older amplifiers or computer speakers1- arrived timely - well packaged2 - box marked new - item is new - no missing parts and as represented in Amazon3 - hardware easy setup - if you are new to optical cable - look for notches on end of cable to align with TV - You may have to fidget to align4 - unit seems well built, feels solid and very compact in size. Physical size is comparable to other DACs in this price range that have a remote. All connections are on the back and you won’t have any cables on the front to contend with as in some other DACs - just depends on your needs and preference.5 - sound quality is good - I useD the DAC on Samsung 55 inch to connect with my Yamaha computer speakers YST-MS30. If you are using computer speakers, the sound output will depend on impedance of DAC and the computer speakers - in my case the sound volume at maximum is pretty good and my friends are quite surprised at the sound quality that’s not from a sound bar system. If you can’t get a reasonable volume output - try another set of computer speakers as their impedance will make a difference. if you are using RCA to amp you should have no issues - if you have equalizer the better to fine tune sound quality. The DAC worked out of the box flawlessly - no hissing or any type of noise after installing DAC - clean sound for price range and for my intended use was perfect.6 - volume level: the volume is controlled by pressing volume button for each increment - there are 10 increments for volume control, you must press for each incremental change, volume change is not continuous like the volume button on your original TV. When changing the volume, you will notice that the volume the green light will “blink” for each change and will remain “on” at full volume or no zero volume is achieved. It would be nice if the volume control was “continuous” versus the incremental but this is minor inconvenience. The DAC Volume changes is reasonable per each increment - some other reviews state they experienced the volume change is too extreme i.e. from low level to extreme high level when they changed volume levels - I did not experience this extreme change and the gradient changes with each pressing of the volume button reasonable.7 - remote range is 15 feet that I experienced and direct line of sight is required to operate, range may be longer but I did not test for maximum distance.8 - this is for two channel as stated in the advertisement, so you must change your TV sound setting to PCM - you have to change the audio to PCM otherwise you won’t get any sound from to the output of the unit, there are videos online and this is simple to change. I used 3.5mm plug to connect with my computer speakers and did not use the RCA output, most will use the RCA output to connect to an amplifier. However, If you have a good set of computer speakers and don’t have an amplifier nearby, you can try the computer speakers and see it will work for you (should be decent speakers with subwoofer.)10 - optical cable cable provided is good quality - I believe it is glass cable and not plastic, so be careful to not to bend too hard or you may kink/damage the fiber cable.11 - most information recommends you change the TV speaker setting from internal TV speaker to external/audio out optical. if you change to external/optical, all sound from the tv will “off” and volume control will be via the DAC and is the typical setup. As a note, my Samsung tv and I believe most other tvs - if you leave internal speakers on - you will be able to control tv speakers with original tv remote and use the DAC remote to control the DAC volume level. I left my internal speakers “on” which I can use to change the audio dynamics just a bit to my preference. NOTE: You can try this and see if this works on your set - if you get an “echoing” effect then turn off internal speakers . In my case, my tv allowed me to change the audio delay on tv speakers and was able to adjust/eliminate the echoing effect. If this is too much trouble turn off internal speakers and go with standard setup..12 - I would recommend this unit - time will tell how the workmanship and durability of the Prozor DAC - if the unit fails prematurely - I will update my review. I cannot confirm if this is true 192KHz quality - my intended use is to get better sound than standard speakers on TV - which my Yamaha computer speakers have performed well.13 - had minor issue with remote control, one of the rubber buttons (“out”) was protruding out of the whole - I wrote the seller and awaiting response. I believe this is an anomaly as no other reviews commented on remote control issues, all other buttons work well and remote performs without any problems. With this in mind - I still recommend this item and believe the seller will correct this matter under there warranty terms14 - UPDATE 03/31/23 to my prior review review (above) - with.regard to my warranty for the remote, the Prozor customer relations team is very responsive regarding my defective item. The customer representative (Irene) understood my problem and we communicated is email, she requested that I send pictures of the defective remote and the following day Prozor agreed to replace the product under warranty. The timeliness between emails and professionalism of the Prozor team indicates this company’s willingness to stand behind their products (great product as it performs 100% (great optical conversion - clean sound - remote works at distance of 15 feet or more). After few emails, I requested the tracking number for the shipment - I was patient and knew it would take few days, Prozor provided me with the tracking number, but oddly enough the package was already delivered - much faster than I anticipated! My problem was addressed and resolved extremely fast, the communication between buyer and seller went extremely smooth and stress free. There are many sellers of these digital to analog converters DAC’s. I searched through many DAC Sellers and read many reviews and I decided to go with the Prozor brand - and on an afterthought with my warranty issue, this purchase is definitely the best experience I’ve had on Amazon and communicating with the seller. “KUDOS” to Prozor and the customer relations team - Prozor stands behind their products and has established a great customer relations team to address front line problems with their customers. I wrote this section as it’s more common to hear complaints of bad experiences - which is contrary with my dealings with Prozor. BTW - Prozor has a great warranty period for their products - what would you expect for a great product.

Great Utility, Great Price
Purchased this to have remote volume control, per Audio Engine's recommendation.I purchased the Audio Engine A2+ speakers about a year ago, and was very happy with the audio quality, small form factor, and ease of setup--but my LG C2 remote didn't work with the speakers. Only worked if I connected over bluetooth, but there was a bit of distracting latency when watching films/youtube etc.Audio engine got back to me in x2 bizdays, and recommended this DAC. Plugged it in, voila. Now I have a remote.Def annoying to have to have 2 remotes in 2023 for my TV and Speakers, but 100% worth it for the upgrade in sound quality with the Audio Engine A2+ matching the upgrade to 4k with the LG C2.Love having true stereo separation, not that goofy mono/soundbar stuff. And the expanded frequency range and "neutral" frequency response means I'm hearing the audio how the creators intended...not overhyped AI artificially guessing and trying to sweeten the sound signature. The A2+ and the prozor DAC together allow me to, for significantly cheaper cost, experience a high quality, neutral sound signature, with the convenience of a remote. Also, i knocked over the remote like 100x and it's still operating like a champ. invincible nokia cell phone vibes.love it.thanks guys.

Works like a charm…but…
I use this to take the optical out of my LG OLED TV to a Klipsh 12” sub from Costco to give the TVs integrated sound bar a little more oomph! Works great! No perceivable lag and just enough oomph for playing video games or watching TV. I would not recommend this sub for watching home cinema, though it just doesn’t have enough oomph for that. There’s just one problem when I cut power to the system. There’s a very loud thump that comes through the sub. I’m not sure if this is due to the wireless adapter that’s provided with the subwoofer or this box but I have a feeling it’s this box. Other than that, the volume control is nice to give it a little more oomph when you want it, just be ready for the big thump when you disconnect the AC mains.

Works as advertised without caveats!
I like the fact that the product is made of metal! It includes an optical cable and the USB power cable, and even batteries for the remote. The only cable you'll need is either a 1/8" stereo cable (or a stereo RCA cable) to connect the output to your device's input.I had purchased this unit in order to connect a pair of Bluetooth stereo speakers to a television with mediocre built-in sound. Even though the TV had Bluetooth, it would NOT connect to any Bluetooth speakers and it only had a digital optical audio output. This device converted the digital optical audio to analog stereo (it is NOT compatible with surround-sound so set your audio-out settings accordingly**) so I was able to use my speakers as desired.Nitpicks: 1) It DOES have an adjustable audio output which is great, but instead of 10-steps, I wish it had 15-20. That being said, it does work well.2) I put some adhesive rubbery feet on the bottom of the unit to keep it pointed in the direction I place it whereas without them, the weight of the cables may tend to reposition the unit's orientation and possibly make it a little more difficult to "see" the signal from the remote control, depending on your setup.**Remember to set your device's audio-out to Stereo and/or PCM. My TV was set to Dolby Surround by default and so I heard no audio from my newly connected speakers at first.Good price! Good Product!
