Plug and play, makes monitoring much easier
Quick summary: this Bluetooth adapter is simple to install, configure, and use. The information it provides to a phone is very useful and much more convenient than going and looking at the charge controller.More detailed review: I have a Renogy Wanderer 10A charge controller, 50 watt panel, and a LiFePo4 battery to provide 12V power for lighting and a small fan in my shed. I wanted to be able to check on the system and verify it was working correctly without needing to go out in the shed and directly look at the controller, so I purchased this Bluetooth adapter.Connection is simple: it uses a modular connector identical to those used in landline telephones, so it’s literally plug and play.Pairing with Bluetooth on a 2020 iPhone SE is quick and easy, as is using the app. It provides all the real-time status in a convenient and useful layout. The range is enough to go about 30 feet through the shed and house walls. I did test it up to 100 feet away with no obstructions, but it was not able to communicate with my phone at that range. I suspect the range estimates are idealized and somewhat overstated.Useful feature: if the controller’s output is set to manually switch the load on and off when the Enter button is pressed, you can remotely switch the load terminals using the app.The only downsides seem to be related to my charge controller, not the Bluetooth adapter. The controller is extremely basic and doesn’t do any internal data logging or storage at all beyond saving the settings. Thus, the only information it outputs is just the real time status, which the Bluetooth adapter faithfully transmits. The app is capable of many features that this particular controller is not, such as renaming the controller and logging historical data about power generation, consumption, battery state and voltage, etc. I presume more advanced Renogy controllers would be capable of logging and sending that data, though I wish the app would hide the fields and options that the controller doesn’t support.Bottom line: if you have a Renogy controller and want to monitor it without needing to directly look at its display, this Bluetooth adapter is the way to go. In my case, the controller cost less than the Bluetooth adapter, but getting the adapter was definitely the right choice.

This BT1 module works as advertised
I had originally ordered and received a BT1 module from Isunrgey but I returned it for refund because it came with no instructions, no owners manual or owners guide and instalation guide. I did reach out to the seller and they sent me a small sticky note size instruction guide that had more than 7 words printed on it. After receiving this i just requested a refund and returned the item per isunegies instructions. That was on Dec 6,2024 I haven't received credit on my card as of yet, DO NOT BY ANYTHING FROM THIS SELLER. They are dishonest and should be banned from Amazon. The Renogy product I ordered to replace the crappy isunergy BT1 module was less expensive, worked much better and yes it came with detailed instructions and a multi page owners guide. Not to mention the Renogy App is much more user friendly and has much more content. Buy from Renogy, DO NOT BOTHER WITH ISUNERGY.

Limited but functional
The BT app is fairly clumsy to use, having to enter the password every time you make any change but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty ok since you rarely make changes, it’s mostly just used for monitoring. If you do want to change a battery parameter, you have to select the battery type as 'User', then make the change. The administrator password is 135790123 (unless you change it). The range isn’t all that great but the wire is about 18 feet long so you can mount it pretty far away.

Basically Required If You Are Going To Use A Wanderer Charger
This is basically a required item if you're going to use a Renogy Wanderer charger. The charger provides no information other than a few flashing lights so if you want any technical information on solar charging Ah or easily confirm that your array is operating near it's designed capacity then you need this Bluetooth module. Unfortunately, you need one of these modules for each component in the system. So, if you have two solar chargers then you will need a BT module for each which is the biggest negative to the system. My review is based on this piece of hardware. The app that supports it is pretty lousy and hopefully Renogy overhauls it soon. Likewise, the methodology Renogy used for connecting and monitoring multiple components is not the best in my opinion.I recently installed two 200W Renogy flexible solar panels on a camper and used a Wanderer controller to charge the battery. Connecting to this BT module is as simple as an old landline telephone. The RJ12 cable plugs into the BT module and the other end plugs into the controller. The BT module came with an adhesive backing which I used to secure the module to the wall in a corner to keep it out of the way. You can also put screws through the slots on both sides. After a 3000+ mile trip it is still secured to the wall using the adhesive. The app can hang or do weird things but if you close the app and reopen it, it usually connects to the BT module within a few seconds. This module will send a strong enough signal that I could stay connected about 50ft away. I could check the solar charger from the passenger seat while we were driving down the road which is roughly 30ft.
