Great for keeping those animals watered
I made a auto filling dog bowl and these work great with a 5 gallon bucket up to a horse trough or more

The half inch tread is too big
Got these to create a SiP for my plants. I have 1/2 pipes so I did not need to use the included adapter. However the 1/2 threaded piece is too big, so it does not properly fastens the rubber washer used to keep it from leaking.

Great product
They are very cheap, but if you keep them clean and tighten them properly they seem to work well without leaking. The key is to keep them clean during the install. Any dirt on the threads / gasket and it will probably start leaking.

Plastic is Better
I have had to replace the float twice because of corrosion from the water in the fountain. These plastic floats seem to work great and no issue with corrosion.

Works!
My husband put these in my horses troughs this spring. They are all functional and wonderful to have. We even used a few in 5 gallon pails which saved money as we no longer need new large troughs. My husband was pleased with how easy they were to put together.
