Best Value for the money
I spent some time looking at the different options out there for AC gauges. Was not looking for the professional type but did not want to buy junk. This set seemed to be perfect in meeting my requirements:Pros:- Metal valve knobs on manifold (sets with plastic ones break)- Valves to go on the low & high pressure side of AC (cheap sets only have push on connectors without the open / close valve) as this allows me to open the valve after I have situated the connector.- Window to view coolant flow.- Can tap that works on the self sealing AC cans - was not sure the one in this kit would work but it did (saves the additional expense of having to buy one for the self sealing cans as a lot of the older kits have the piercer types that don't work).- Was able to remove the high pressure connector without issue after use (some people mention that is an issue with other sets)- Rubber protector around the gauges to protect from bumps.Cons- Instructions had some typos on the chart. I also did not see the gauge zero screw they mention (was not an issue for me as gauges were at 0).- I did find the ac lines on the manifold loosened themselves when moving the guage. Since I had read that was an issue with other sets, I was not surprised. Quick hand tightening of the ac lines fixed the issue and I was able to complete the work. The lines use hard plastic seals and they don't grip as well as rubber but I have read where people use thread sealant (such as nylog sealant) to fix the loosening issue. I did not see this as a big deal breaker- The AC lines do not have 90 degree connectors (more like 30 degree) which means if the location of your high or low valve is very constricted you may have trouble attaching the lines. The van I worked on had only one spot where there was enough room on the high side to connect up the lines.- The case requires you to dismantle everything to put it back in the case so if you use this set on a regular basis, the case has no value.I would recommend this set to someone who did not want an expensive professional set but did not want something completely throw away either. Best value for what the kit contains.

Pay attention to how the valves operate (clockwise or counter to open/close).
I have 2 cars (2004 Jetta, 2007 Camry) that the AC was getting very weak on (I live in Texas, so its nice to have AC that throws very cold air). I bought this gauge set to have something to see if the charge looked low and to make a more accurate decision of how much to add. A garage that is set up to service your AC system will use a vacuum pump to evacuate it completely, they will then put in exactly the recommended amount for that specific car (this method is more accurate, but it also costs more to do). The 2 valves for the high & low side quick disconnect fittings work the opposite way that standard valves do (Counterclockwise to close, clockwise to open). I looked at the 4 valve handles on the manifold valves & assumed that they all operated the same way. Overall, I was very glad that I could get both AC systems running good for the price of this gauge set & 2 cans of R134a.

Basic, but does the job
For about $40 I found the pressure(s) in my house AC was exactly what it should be, not less than half as my HVAC told me. Seems I may not need a new unit after all.

Nice tool
Worked for my R134a car and for a friend's R22 home air conditioner. Seems to be very accurate and the connectors had absolutely no leaks. Good set of adapters. That's what's needed for an air conditioner job. Recommend.

A/c Freon service kit
Great for the price , these you need to properly diagnose a/C problems
